I had slight set up problem that was my own doing, I had implemented a hack to try and sort by a custom field to (frontend.class.php & axsearch.class.php) and had forgotten to restore the original files used for listing the items and searching.

Worked perfect once I restored the original files.

Looks like this is a dead project for the developer. The idea of this plug in is fantastic and what I'm looking for, however not an update since Oct 18, 2008 (see above - Alpha). The plug in broke my template.
