I'd tried other migration tools (including a paid one) which weren't nearly as comprehensive or straightforward. The process is completely automated and pretty much "single click". I especially liked the fact you could test out the migrated site in a subdirectory first before confirming and going live. It also did a number of sanity checks including repairing and compacting the database before extracting and duplicating the data. The process is reversible (ie revert to backup).
What it doesn't (and couldn't easily) do is sort out extension compatibility - you have to manually inspect each one and upgrade before/after the migration.
I also had a minor glitch with my template which broke dramatically, but only required a couple of lines changed to fix.
Great piece of software and well worth the time saved/price charged. Note that MigrateMe for upgrading Joomla 1.5 to 2.5 or 3 is free, while other migrations such as 2.5 to 3.0 is a commercial extension.
The process of adding listings, approval and display by the admin is practical and effective.
There are a lot of configuration options, ranging from the number of listings per page through to display per listing of recommend, maps, website and claim.
My only minor gripes are
1) that spam might be a problem on some of the pages because there is no "captcha" display of letters for viewers to interpret and enter on a validation form. Therefore I have turned off some of the user options to protect against spambot abuse.
2) Whilst featured listings are supported, and you can link a single listing across two or more categories, its not possible to use the same listing text and have one featured and one standard entry in multiple categories. This means entering listings twice in some cases.
Yes, its true there is little or no documentation, but the package is very easy to install and operate. For the price, this is really excellent value and highly recommended.
