XGallery
This SOUNDS amazing, possibly better than Phoca Gallery (although PG may have the edge due to having a range of further extensions) - BUT it's very difficult to install due to it's huge file size (2.62 Megs). I should be able to install the old fashioned way (upload via FTP & use the "Install from Directory" method) but if you're looking for one that's easy to install you've opened the wrong page... :-/

It's doubtful the installation failure has anything to do with the file size. I have this component installed on multiple website and have worked with other website owners to help configure their websites. They did not mention the install failing because of file size. Most likely it is a problem with your setup or your browser. I don't know if you email for help, but the only other person that emailed me saying they couldn't installed the component asked me to log into their back-end and when I did, the component installed flawlessly.

Phoca Gallery
It's definitely a very refined plugin but it's let down by the automatic creation of generically branded folders used to store files with no clear way of setting custom folders for specific media types. I may simply have not found that option yet but I've spent 10 minutes looking through them to no avail.

That said tho it's still a very good extension!

Hi, thank you for your review, will be great if you can explain it little more in e.g. Phoca Forum.

"... folders used to store files with no clear way of setting custom folders for specific media types"

At this time I don't understand what you mean with specific media types? In image gallery, there is only one media type - Image. ???

It only seems to support individual media files, rather than link to a directory. Pity, was looking forward to using it as well... :-/
