Was time to see Jcomments on JED!

First of all i want to talk about the excellent support! The developer is open to new suggestions and he is a hard worker when dealing up with bugs etc.

Now about the component it is really hard to believe that is free! It is stable as rock, it is very cool looking and it offers so many features that are taking commenting to an other level.

A big plus is that

..you can use the avatars from all the well known forum/community systems with no hacks and without to waste your time.

..members can use the "new comment" notifier to subscribe to followup messages

..and you can make it work almost to anywhere thanks to the excellent integration with many major components!

Generally there are many more to mention like AJAX, re-sizable comment area, characters counter etc etc

Installed normally!
set it up in 5 minutes
Imported the comments from yvcomment in some seconds and from that time everything is running flawless !

So this is the end of my very honest review!
5/5 and a big thank to the developer/translators and anyone who is involved with this project!

First of all i want to say a big thank you for providing a so great component for free!

Installed and have it running in 3 minutes!

Very easy to use and understand and many options that will help everyone to customize it to his needs!

Also the easy integration with jcomments is a big +

However some things could make it even more powerful !!

what im missing..

1. I think there should be a "report download" link

2. An integrated "voting system" for the downloads

3. when using it with jcomments and viewing a list of downloads in subcategory view, it will be nice to have a "number of comments" notice..
ex.
download 1 (## number of comments)
download 2 (## number of comments)

4. An option for the uploaders to be able to update/delete their uploads ... and also to be able to view all of their uploaded files.

5. A "sort by" option for the frontend (subcategory view)

sort downloads by ...
name
rating
date added
date modified


Again maybe some things missing but this is a great component anyway, and is recommended to everybody :)

This is a very useful component!
Installs and works great without problems !

What i dont like both to the component and its module are the extra links that have nothing to do with the weather

-Local Pollen Reports
-Airport Conditions
-Lawn and Garden Weather
-Rush Hour Traffic

a credit link would be ok ... but 4 extra links are too much!

*This may coming from weather.com and not the developer of the component thats why i didnt rate with that in mind.

It updates the stats proper and there isnt thousands guests anymore!!!

I started testing this forum component from the beginnings!
There was many bugs but it is getting better day by day!

Now i have to say only good words!

The only thing is missing is a PM system or an integration option with an existing like uddeim

Well! Im shocked!! Really.

Ive tried too many galleries in the last days (or weeks)and spend so much time trying to find solutions for bugs.. and ways to add more features for my needs!

This wasnt possible so the only solution was to try even more till the end ;)

Went for JoomGallery.

Installed in a minute!!
Set in 10 minutes! (there are really too many options in the settings area and this is very very good as you can config anything you want in a very simple way)

After config you are ready to go!
No hacks, no messing up with the code, nothing!!!

Clean CSS, clean fronted 'look', votes, comments, email to a friend, share to forums etc are only some of the features.

I cant believe that what i tested is a beta . I mean what will the main version have more? (i cant think of anything)

Also i cant understand why this component is not on the top of the galleries list! It is not fair.

A big thank to the developers with much love and respect!
I made my job as i wanted to (and more) safely, fast, steady, free with no problems at all.

2 problems (not major but)

a.
You can choose in what sections/categories/articles to be disabled.
but you cant choose in what sections/categories/articles to be enabled.

So if i have 100 categories and want to show it on 2, i have to disable the 98 instead of just enable the 2 of them.

b.
Is not possible to hide the "next article" "previous article" links so if the default navigation is 'on' you have 2 navigations.

You can disable the default but if you want to stay only with it, you cant!

Request: read more 'random' from the same category or section :)

Works excellent and gives to Eventlist a big '+'

Some annoying things (not critical)

1. when changing "month" then the all page is reloading .. (needs ajax)

2. the balloon tips needs improvement.

2 or more = events (s)

A separator between the events if there is more than 1.
(or bullet list - number list - line break etc.)

I love this module but there is a major problem as it is always in 'front' ...

I have some drop down menus and a search module with drop down results to a higher position and the banner is covering all of them so they are not visible.

Wish you could fix this in a future update ;)

This is a great tool and should be to the default joomla core!!
Works the same way like joomla contacts so the user dont need any special knowledge!

Also the integrated captcha works out of the box! no hacks and additional plugins!!

The possibility to add custom fields is perfect BUT!

It would be even better to be able to make a contact for the registered users.

No need to typing email and name.
Their email and username (instead of name) to be added automatically (from their registered information)
Both email and usename to be locked so they cant change it.

Dont know if this is possible to happen but if yes,
then it will take it to an other lavel!!

A godsend and very useful plugin but unfortunately it is not working with all the components!!! (like alpha content ..it load only the footer)

I test it with some others on the other hand and really worked!!!
Hope for a better support with alpha content in the future ...

It is a good and beautiful module!!

Id love it more if it didn't had problems with Internet explorer 6! (still 25%+ in browsers) The weather icons getting 3 times bigger and the module is stretching !!!

It will be nice in the future to be able to change language though an ini file (classic method).

Great idea and really useful but it dont works for me.
Im choosing the document i want to put for download, i choose caption and press ok button.

Ok button is not working :/

It is easy to set it up and works fine BUT there is major 'spam' (not exactly spam) problem. What i want to say is..

In my site i have setup 8 different lists.
If a user subscribe to all at once (8 check boxes) then he will get 8 email confirmations and he will need to click to 8 links to activate them all.

IF you fix this one then Acajoom News will be unbeatable in my opinion.
