Frenzy! Bulletin Board
What looks to be a promising and full featured forum component is currently (version 1.5.1) buggy. Even the demo/support forum at the author's site isn't working properly and shows a number of errors. It looks like a lot of work has been put into this component but until the bugs are shaken out and the software has been updated to a new version, I have to rate it low. This is not presently a usable solution for a website needing a forum.

You are right, but Most of the issues are now resolved, so when you have time give it another try

Joo!BB - Joomla! Bulletin Board
This is a solid beta. It installed without any problems and everything works as it should so far. The design looks great and I love the ability to change themes. It has many nice features common in modern forums such as BBcode, smilies, user ranking, groups, etc. However, what it is missing is a deal breaker for me. I need a forum with a way to ban bad users (such as spammers and trolls). While you can just delete a user there is no way to ban by IP and there are not many admin options for other administrative tasks from within the board layout. This is a good forum for anyone who wants an easy yet sophisticated solution but doesn't have a need for strong user control.

I hope to see IP banning in the post-beta versions.

This module interfaces the Woopra beta web tracking application (think google analytics with realtime stats) with a joomla website. It does exactly what it needs to do. I had a little bit of trouble getting the module to publish in the footer of my site but that may have been operator error and not the fault of the module. One thing that bugs me though, is that the Who's Online module conflicts with the number of visitors that Woopra finds. Who's Online usually shows a few more visitors than Woopra. I'd like to know why. Other than that, this module was easy to install, quick to implement and works the way it should. Also it doesn't suffer from the same problem of tracking back end statistics that RokWoopra does.

The numbers from Whos Online come from Joomla sessions. This will include front end and back end sessions and could include sessions for user that have left the site but still have session objects. This could also include spiders/crawlers. The Woopra number, I find to be much more accurate.
