JCE
I have been using JCE for some days and my opinion about it is becoming worse and worse.

1) It doesn't create / tags automatically. This can help in some cases, but in most cases it only disturbs.
2) It makes article loading too long.
3) JCE can compete with TinyMCE and some others, but ceditCKEditor leaves it far behind, not because of features, but because of look & speed.
4) Too many features, and too much time to find the one needed.

1) What tags are you referring to? JCE creates well-formed XHTML valid html.

2 & 3) It seems strange that your main requirements of an editor are speed and visual appeal. The loading speed of JCE can be increased by activating GZip compression in the JCE Configuration.

4) I agree, JCE is packed full of features, and offer even more with an optional subscription. Sometimes its necessary to spend time to learn how to use an extension to get the most out of it.

Kunena
Kunena is powerful. It doesn't have a lot of glitches. It has a high-quality Ukrainian translation. It doesn't disfigure users avatars. It generates RSS. It works perfectly with Community Builder.

It is a great alternative for vBulletin, phpBB or even IPB, of course, if you have several additional Joomla! components installed.

KUNENA & CCBOARD RULE!

Ukrainian - Translations for Joomla!
I adore this translation - I'm Ukrainian, and Joomla! becomes Ukrainian too! I understand English good, but this translation makes working with Joomla! easier and more productive (well, when both content and site are in one language, it is better than else)!

But I think that authors aren't very attentive when they use it on their sites. I think they could write descriptions of some functions fuller and name these fuctions better too.

AlphaContent
* Very good SEF URL's.
* It is easy-to-use (being easy to use is always one of the main tasks of a program or a script or a Joomla! component).
* AlphaContent works without any glitches.
* I like its rating system, it's simple but does its work.
* AlphaContent is free!

PSlider
It can display only a small part of one picture. The functions are poor - you can choose only the picture, and the path which it redirects to. I won't recommend anyone to use it.
Owner's reply

Hi, and Thanks for your review,
PSlider has its own CSS file and all you say can be edited as you see fit!

Joom!FreeMind
That's somehing new... I've never seen so cool-looking sitemap! You open the sitemap, see humorous circles and rectangles with names of the site's components and enjoy it! And yeah, the navigation of the sitemap is like some geographical maps which is fun in the best meaning of this word.

BUT! Others look simple and boooring but have less glitches. I don't like FreeMind's "[numbers]" after names of the site's components. If somebody will see "Forum [0]" he won't look through that forum. If there weren't these "[numbers]" I would like FreeMind much more.

My mark is "A" - "Excellent!" but in my mind it is "B with plus".

AlphaContent plugin for sh404SEF
Thank you a lot!

Now my links are short and easy-to-remember!

Again, thank you, the plugin is just PERFECT, I just have no words!

JoomSEF Free
Mark "C"... It is simple to work with it and it makes its work, BUT:

* many plugins for it are paid
* many free plugins are... hm... bad...

I thank authors a lot for their work, but I still prefer sh404SEF.

But! For simple sites without forums, directories but with lots of articles and pages this plugin is MUST-HAVE!
