I have been using JComments for awhile now, and I can honestly say I believe it to be the BEST Joomla commmenting Component available.
Installation is a snap, plays well with other components like SOBI2 (they have a plugin for SOBI2) and Eventlist.
Permissions tab in settings is incredible for fine tuning, It has built in subscriptions and even allows for importing comments from other systems if your switching over.

The Module;
This would be 5 stars, if the ability for users to set their location permanently was implemented, as well as a way to ensure Celsius output all around in the frontend.
- Google uses Dependable, Accurate weather data - so this module is the only free solution out there, that uses data thats accurate at this point. I truly think that if you are going to post a weather widget on your page, you should be putting one with accurate data at the very least ;)
The plugin;
Great tool for your content, you can show the current weather for anywhere - from anywhere.

This plugin would be great, except that it has no way to limit where it appears. Eventlist & Sobi are showing this plugin in their output (which subsuquently shows frontpage titles, not eventlist or sobi titles (doesn't work in those components even though its displayed), so its not limiting itself to article sections and categories (no way to control sections or categories either)

I think the extension is great, minus the link to the weather channel, and, biggest of all, the data from weather.com or weather channel is consistently wrong wrong wrong - At least for my Canadian province's cities. Has the developer thought of using Google's weather API (like ROKWeather) or some other more reliable data source for the weather feeds? - Its too bad the data is never reliable at all (at least for Canada) as this is a great extension.

Man, some of the reviews here are hard to understand... are you people for real? one person posted that he never bothered asking for support, because of the posts here, and uninstalled? and that review made it through? lol is there another component's author at work here?
This is by far the best component for classified's that you will find for Joomla. The Forums are very active, with a wide variety of issues, and implementations covered. I can honestly say that any problems I have had (not many), I always found a solutions to, or had an answer provided.
I would suggest anyone turned off by some of the ridiculous negative comments here have a second look, the author is currently back and breathing new life into an already awesome component.
Thanks for this great piece of work Thomas.

The idea is pretty simple - you don't have to insert any readmore's into your articles. Great for your articles all having the same cut-off point in the introtext. Problem is, you don't get the "read-more" where the intro text has been cut-off, requiring a click on the article title to read it all. If this put a read-more link in-place at the cut-off, it would be sweet.
As well, This was cutting off description's in Eventlist(for one) - so it's not limited to just articles - this as well would need to be addressed.
Unable to located the forum if any on the author's site, as it's not in english.

Just getting into the RSS scene for my site and it did not take me long to find this little gem, and it was the FIRST RSS module I even looked at.
I wanted something to show photo's from a feed, as well as introtext, a one liner link just wasn't doing it... This was EXACTLY what I was looking for! tooltips hovers show the photo from the feed, if no photo, then introtext - if that wasn't enough, links open a lightbox effect with set size over your site for better retention.
I have played with this for only about 10 minutes, installed the module, threw in the rss link - realized my news sections will now rock.
If you utilize RSS news feeds on your site, this is MANDATORY.

I think this a fantastic module, don't get me wrong. The real issue for me is the quality of the data that the module gets its feed from. It seems to not be updated very often at all, for example it says its 15 degrees here, when its really 20. - Im not sure at this point, but think the temp and forcast is update only every 12 hours???
I guess my point is, why proudly display the current temperature and forecast, when its always wrong? - I have given this a week, and the data feed from source always seems to be WAY off.
Other than that, for a free module, its quick, simple, and to the point. - I took the time to edit the weather icons from 30,000K each down to 800K because I liked this so much. (40 or more icons) - You might want to do this, as I had 3 days of forecast displaying on the site, and noticed a 100K jump in the page size!
Thanks for the work on the nice module, I will be contacting regarding utilization of a different feed soon.

Really, this component rocks! when I read the other reviews here (pretty dissapointing that some people wrote support type reviews for issues I had seen in the forum), I felt I HAD to write one myself! Eventlist is FREE & Christopher Lukes has done a fantastic job with this component... I just noticed another component released on joomla extension that boasts that it has features that no other joomla calendar has... (for 59 euros!) Well, thats correct somewhat, at the moment.
I had a need for a calendar that had multiple categories incorperated into it and I'm sure I am not alone. I would suggest that those that are looking for this feature as well as a full page calendar, recurring events (that works!) and more..., look no further than this component! These features are currently in the developement build of eventlist (which has always been available to the public BTW - read the faqs!)
Hopefully more people will become involved with this new developement version and contribute to the community - I'm sure you will not be disapointed.
- Good luck to the other developers that want to charge for a component that does not even come close to this one.
My thanks again to Christopher Lukes and the developement team at Eventlist for spending their valuable time to provide a full featured calendar to us all, for free.
