YOOlogin
After trying to install various other horizontal login modules I came across this and was amazed that it worked without any modification. Try this first. It looks good, is compact, and so quick to use. Fantastic module.

This is a really useful extension which - with a few minor changes and additions - could become essential to any site.

I love the way you can get the link description simply with a mouseover.

Like another reviewer, I found the category headings far too big used as a side module. But this was easily changed by altering the size to "componentheading" in the helper file. I disliked the "*" at the start and end of new links but again this was easy to remove and looks neater without.

If it was possible to specify links from certain categories - rather than the entire list - this would get a 5* rating. Perhaps this could be a future improvement? It would be nice to be able to have multiple copies of the module showing links from appropriate categories next to related content on different webpages.

Bullets would also make the layout more appealing.

I shall be watching this extension and keeping my fingers crossed that categories are possible soon.

I create a mambot/plugin for the joomla 1.0 verseion where you can show just one category in a article and by repeating the mambot/plugin call you get multiple catagories.
There is also an inline stilesheet in the mambot.
So if you're using joomla 1.0 then this hould be your choice.

I plan to make a plugin for Joomla 1.5 to do the same but no release date yet

SOBI 2
I've spent about 6 hours working with Sobi2 today and not encountered any of the problems described in earlier posts.

Adding categories and sub-categories has worked without any instability - and is far easier to grasp than many other components I've tried.

Adding extra fields seems very straight-forward. Someone has put a lot of work into making this component really easy to use and not expecting users to know how to do things! It is really impressive - congratulations!

It occurred to me that it would be a useful feature to be able to give "discounts" for things like reciprocal links - eg. deduct £5 from the cost of the listing for this. Perhaps I can do this by giving a field a negative price - I haven't tried yet.

I found it annoying not to be able to delete the "federal state" field, and had trouble moving it to the bottom of the list - out of my way - as the list ordering doesn't seem to work if you give it a different number... but this is a minor issue.

The option to modify the CSS is brilliant - so simple and convenient (and I speak as someone who only discovered Joomla 4 months ago and has no background in programming of any kind!). I changed the border and background colours to fit in better with my site in a matter of minutes.

The thing that gave me most trouble was getting Google maps to work... but I finally figured it out and have posted the Url elsewhere on the forum in case others are similarly baffled.

I'd like to be able to move the name/address/phone etc details up the page into the gap beside the large image - is this possible? It looks an odd gap at the top of the page - and is a waste of space in an important position where people see it when the page loads. Would be good to fix this in later versions.

My only other query is how this component works with OpenSEF etc? I switched from AlphaContent as my menu items were not functioning properly with OpenSEF, so it would be useful to know if people have experienced problems with this component and ID numbers becoming confused. So far my site seems fine.

Great component, extremely professional, many thanks!
