Real Preview for Joomla
I installed this extension for a client who was struggling not being able to preview article changes before publishing them. You do have to have one instance of the article published before it can work...I advised my client to save simply 'page under construction' in the first instance and go from there.

So a useful extension definitely. Plus the developer did a great job sorting out a conflict that occurred with another extension.

5 stars.

I've been using this component for over a year now so thought it was about time I left a review!

Quite simply, I wouldn't build a Joomla website without it. Search engine friendly URLs, meta tags, 301 redirects and so on are all crucial and so easy with this extension.

A learning curve for a novice, but you'll get there. I did.

*thumbs up*

Very good extension which has plenty of customisation.

It's commercial, so I feel some slightly better installation instructions are in order, especially for novice Joomla users. Redirecting them to reams of generic Joomla instructions (not all of which work) is just confusing.

New users: FTP the contents of the zip file to a subfolder (of your making) in tmp.

Then login to site backend as admin. Go to Extensions - Install/Uninstall - Install from Directory (adding the subfolder you created to the end of the string).

Social Media Icon Links
Looks great, works a treat...but one MAJOR criticism. If you check the source code after installation, the developer has embedded a keyword rich link back to their own website and then hidden it via CSS.

Don't think this is a problem? Well it is. It's unethical. And search engines like Google can and do penalise websites for hidden links. My advice, don't use this extension unless you edit the PHP code to remove the hidden link. Thankfully, this is relatively easy to do. But it really shouldn't be there in the first place.

You brought up a good point. Many FREE extensions include a link back to their site as this one did, however, the link should not have been hidden via CSS. The new version has an option to properly disable it from the module manager.

I hope this resolves any issues you had with the module.

I really like Chronoforms - considering I am a novice who doesn't bother reading documentation unless I absolutely have to, it didn't take me that long to setup! I have found support to be good on the forum too.
JV-LinkDirectory (JVSE)
JVLD is great - easy to install (I was a Joomla novice when I first installed it), easy to use and as I say, outstanding support. I have installed and used JVLD on several websites. On the one occasion when I did have a layout issue (a problem with the template CSS I was using rather than JVLD), the developer logged into my Joomla website and fixed it for me! JVLD is constantly being developed and the developer does seem keen to integrate all feasible feature requests, left by users on his forum, into future editions. Top marks.
