Akeeba Backup
Having had problems with restoring files and databases on various sites I decided to give Akeeba Backup a trial run. I have a site with over 300 pages so I followed instructions and created a backup which I downloaded. I then tried to restore it to a different domain name on my server. Initially I used the Kickstart script to restore which didn't work. I then extracted the files using Akeeba extract wizard and uploaded them using ftp. I had already set up the database and the install ran similarly to a normal Joomla install. Although it took time to upload the files I'm pleased to say it worked perfectly. I don't mind if it takes an hour to do as long as it does the job and this certainly does the job. Well done and thanks to Akeeba!
Slideboom plugin

Slideboom plugin
After installing this plugin, following the given instructions, registering an account with slideboom and uploading a presentation I discovered that the wordpress tag is not present on slideboom. This makes the plug in unusable a complete waste of time and effort!

On SlideBoom site: Select a presentation. Click on Edit button just below the presentation. In the presentation details screen check options: "I want my presentation to be available to anyone online" and "Allow embedding this presentation at other sites". Easy...
