- doumentation is rather poor (and since this tool is quite complex it is a must)
- video tutorials without voice narration are useless (as they are to fast, the screen resolution is sometimes to low to figure out whet the presented did)
- altough it is french product, I would say that English is international dialog language and all documentations, videos, tools, etc should be maintain in English only
- uninstalling CCk is a big problem, becasue it doesn't uninstall properly, so uless you really know what are you doing you better forget uninstalling it manuall or you might crash your site completely. the best method is to make a full backup before you install it.
- operating the tool and comonents is not very intuitive
- exiting/creating new articles ald fashion way requires every time unchecking a little check mark on the top of the admin page (which drives me nuts!)
The positive aspect is that this tool seem to be well integrated with the whole Joomla framework, but the learning curve is pretty steep and long.
What I miss the most is tutorials, good documentation, and well prepared videos.
The Fact that it worked for you a few days ago says that its no bug of the plugin, i think its caused by you and/or your webserver. You're free to ask in the Joomlaportal Thread. Most common problem is inserting the plugin-code into your wysiwyg editor. Some of them are converting parts of the code to "html-friendly phrases" - but thats the problem, the plugin cant replace such phrases by the Download-Buttons.
You can check your original HTML-Code with an extension like Firebug or just viewing the Source Code of your page.
Whatever download wasnt developed "for the community", i developed it for my personal usage and then shared it with the community - so whatever download is provided as it is, you are free to change the code, css, images, and so on - but i'll not extend the plugin to work on every site - on every background-colors.
Rating an extension with 1/5 stars without asking the dev for help is unfair i think, but ok, its your opinion.
I'm Sorry for my English, now i write only in italian on my site and then it will be google transalte to do the rest on every language, not only English. I'm uploading the new videos with new label in english because with the new version 1.5.0 there are new important features also on the interface.
However I suggest to not vote my component if you don't understand how it runs. The vote is on the software not on the documentation. Thanks
There will be no such issues if you have gone through the documentation well espescially FAQs section.
I mean the issues you reported are not issues of my plugin. This is misconception for you as you are technically naive about joomla and still didnt read the documentation.
Hi, can you report any bugs found in the forum please, we do fix things when reported and I'm not aware of anything seriously wrong at the moment!
Cheers

I'm sad for your trouble but without further information about your Joomla configuration
I cannot decide, whether your problems really originate from this extension. You can contact us at contact@vi-solutions.de. I tested install, uninstall and disable, extensively and they work fine with Joomla 1.5.x (including many third party extensions).
When you install the plugin the following things happen.
- It adds a recordset in the jos_plugins table of your database (name = User - SpambotCheck).
- It adds the plugin-files spambotcheck.php and spambotcheck.xml and the plugin-folder SpambotCheck in plugins/user in the filesystem of your joomla-installation.
- It adds the language-files en-GB.plg_user_spambotcheck.ini to the folder administrator\language\en-GB and (de-DE.plg_user_spambotcheck.ini in administrator\language\de-DE in case you have german language installed).
- In case you enabled the plugin-parameter "Log Spambot to DB", there will be a table jos_rk_spambot_attempts in your database. This table will only be created, if there have already been any spambot attacks.
You can get rid of the plugin when you delete these files and the recordset in jos_plugins (not very elegant I know, but it should at least be a fast solution of your problem).
Plugin screen prompt is part of the language-files. It's the 'USER_LOGIN_SPAM_TXT'.
