It is very easy to use, and when it works it works really well - the default css styling is attractive and the citation itself very functional with the copy-to-clipboard buttons, line numbers and the like.
I have turned off the editor on my joomla user and try to use just basic formatting for articles: open and close p tags and strong; but if I have more than four instances of code citation within one article it tends to stop working on the fifth codecitation. I've played around a fair bit trying to stop it from happening but I'm afraid I don't know what else I can do. Most of my code citations are php, xml and html.
I doubt that this is the fault of the author of codecitation, and believe it's more of a Joomla fault. It's just a shame really.
