The customization system is also quite useful especially for internationalization, but I would have enjoyed having it within the plugin interface, instead than using the very long customization string. But overall I rate it as an excellent improvement over the "ordinary" captchas. I hear that more improvements are on the way....

Thanks Antonio. We appreciate the kind words and also the feedback that lead to some fixes and improvements. You probably heard from Dave that some crazy new customization options are in the works, and I can confirm this.
Using our centralized customization system, you'll be able to use the new options on your site without having to update your peoplesign plugin! You can experiment with any new options on peoplesign.com/main/customize.html, copy the customization string, and then paste into your Joomla admin page.
We currently have over 25 options and we support numerous other plugin plaforms in addition to Joomla. Having to maintain a customize UI for all these platforms would be a nightmare for everybody involved. Centralization frees up our time to deliver requested features and reduces bugs. The alternative would result in more updates/patches for you.
We're currently working on usability enhancements on our customization page using Javascript. These enhancements would be difficult or impossible to implement in the Joomla admin page. Thinking about your feedback, maybe we can streamline by automatically coping the customization string into the copy buffer. I'll check it out. Excellent feedback!
