Sometimes, just sometimes something works so well as to be nigh on perfect - enter joomlapack! I have used this product twice now - once to rebuild a corrupt website, the second to clone a site. Both were perfectly executed by joomlapack. Both site were back up and running in under an hour. I cannot praise this product enough. It really should be a core part of joomla 1.5.x. Do yourself a big favour - download it today and use it regularly. One day it will save you a huge amount of time and stress. Brilliant!

Phil Taylor's Tags
It is rare I write reviews - laziness really. There are some truly great components etc around - this one included. Firstly - does it work? Yes, yes, yes - if you want a way of getting your website noticed and you run a community or information based website then yes, load it today. It is not without problems - it sort of takes over your site - but Phil is on-hand to sort out any conflicts you might have. Support through Phil cannot be faulted - certainly in my case.

Now, this component is not without issues. There is a problem with fireboard (Phil resolved this quickly and there is now a fix) and I found in my case that the payment gateways (mambots) knocked out the ajax backend (this still needs to be resolved). Other than this it works really well and the tags definitely get noticed - my site is pretty much #1 in my area of activity and a lot of my content access comes from joomla tags showing in google.

The Smarty templates allow customisation which is great (I had a problem with these white screening me in an older version but seems ok now). If you are running a site such as mine which is a rentals website then you don't want lots of tags and things spoiling your copy you can use these to fine tune the look.

Things that need solving - the ability to turn off tags on an article by article basis is the key one, then you can put tags just where you need them. I thought the new version had this but can't find it - maybe its in the 1,5 version, this particular site runs 1.15.

Overall - very good. Would be excellent except for the conflicts and the lack of what i consider a few key features. Support seems a little unwieldy at times but Phil is defo on the ball and solves stuff real quickly. Good stuff Phil.
