I tested this component today on Joomla! 1.5.7 on my local testing server. Installation has no problem. When I clicked its name on the component menu at backend, it showed me an error message: Sorry, only a Super Administrator can use this facility. It is funny since I AM the Super Admin user.

BTW, hope the author can add some more features like fields selection, with or without password, and multi-language support. Thanks.

I can't believe that this small plugin (only 17KB) can do such a fantastic job!

Today I tested JLord Users Generator component on my Joomla! 1.5.7, I think the author can do something to improve it.

Let's see a feature reqeust from one of the members on our Chinese Joomla Forum:

He is building a website for a college, he want to generate a lot of users, each for a student. But the problem is: the username must be the Stubent ID Number, not the Name. The password should be the same as the username. The email can be anything since it will be modified by each student himself.

I noticed that you had fix the beginning portion of the generated username to jlord_test_user. And we can't control the dynamic portion either.

So, my suggestions are:

1. Add a new option to allow user specify the fix part of the username, for example, we can use 2008 instead of jlord_test_user, because the Student ID Number always start with the year number. Of course, we can also leave this field empty to disable the constant part of the username.

2. Add a new parameter to let user specify the start point number of the dynamic portion, maybe from 1, maybe from 00001, maybe from 999, just let us control it.

3. Add a new option to let user specify the increasing or decreasing direction and step length. Default is increasing by 1 for each step.

4. Add a new option to exclude certain numbers or characters.

5. Add a new option to print out the generated usernames, passwords add emails, one user one line, then we can cut that paper and send each user info to its owner.

Due to the poor instructions from the author, I can't get this plugin to work at first. Finally I realized that I just need to give the image a CSS class named jthumbs. Then it worked. I saw the highslide effects.

But the thumbnail image did not show up properly. My thumbnails look like a vertical bar in gray color with a size about 2px*15px. If I click that gray bar, there will pop-up the large image. I can't understand this.

Anyway, this plugin seems the easiest way to get highslide images. Hope the author will improve it. Thanks.

This plugin is exactly the best one to insert Google Analytics code into your template. Don't worry about if a module position is at the bottom of your webpate, this plugin can just insert those code before closing Body tag.

I tested this module on Joomla! 1.0.15 today. It is very easy to use and support up to 10 modules. I also see the mouseover-change effects. Fabulous! But I did not see the automated change effect, though the backend has this parameter.

If it is a bug, please fix it. I also suggest to support up to 15 modules, maybe someone need more tabs. Thanks to the author.

This Tabs module is very easy to use. But it lacks of two important features: 1. Open tab on mouseover. 2. Automated tabs change.

This is a very good component. I hope the author can improve the uploading feature, since if we have too many categories of e-cards, why not create sub-folders for each category ?

In addition, I think use Flash video file (.swf) to make E-cards is more beautiful. Please add support for SWF videos. When the receipient got the notification mail, he can click the link inside the mail to go to our website to watch the SWF video.

This is really a simple download manament component. It can work. And it can support Chinese characters in Title and Description fields.

The flaw is: please don't use title-alias for the content plugin, since this is too difficult to keep precise. I suggest to use File ID in the component.

Please include the usage of the plugin in the About page or the parameter page of the plugin.

Please add multi-language support for backend interface.

This is a new comment component for J1.5, other than yvComment. I would like to rate it high to encourage the author because I really don't like yvComment. But this component has too many obvious problems:

1. I entered the Website field when post a comment, but it can't be recorded if not started with http://. If the component can't recoganize URL without http://, please add a reminding message beside the input box.

2. Totally no support for utf-8: If I enter any words in Chinese characters in the Name or Comment field, they were not saved. In the backend, I can see those Chinese characters were not recorded.

3. If I pressed Enter to begin a new line in the comment, that was ignored when saving. The result is, all my comments were saved as one single line.

4. This need more features to be a mature commenting compoent: limit of Section/Category, BBcode, Smiley, and the most important one is Multi-language support!

Anyway, I should thank the author for his efforts.

This is a good idea to insert footnotes and endnotes automatically. But this plugin has no multi-language support, so the title Footnotes can't be translated.

Hope the author will add some parameters to control the style of footnotes, such as put a horizontal line above the footnotes, just like that in a hard-copy book; and give different font and color to footnotes texts; and empty margin below the last footnotes to make it separated from the page footer texts.

This plugin can generate thumbnail and make the thumbnail image as a link to Fulltext page, this is good.

But it will constraints the image size in fulltext page to a solid dimension for all images which may have different original sizes, this is very bad.

I suggest to offer pop-up enlargement effects by Lightbox or Highslide scripts for images on fulltext page.

I would like to rate this one 5 stars but I can't, because it simply doesn't work!

I installed this plugin on my Joomla! 1.5.6, and installed the Scriptegrator plugin. Surely I had enabled both plugin and select jQuery JS to yes in Scriptegrator plugin. But it just refuses to show up the stars!

This is a very good Newsletter component. I gave it 4 stars because I found something need to be improved.

1. The frontend can't use my language file, though I had already uploaded my Chinese translation. At the same time, the backend can use my language file. So the author should check the mechanism of frontend multi-lingual support.

2. When I choose All from the Display # list at frontend, this component said "No results were found", but when I chose the number of 5, it can show me the sample newsletter there. Then, do you mean All can't include the one showing in 5 ?

3. The author offered language file for the module, but I can't find those parameters in this language file. Please add them so I can make a complete translation.

There is also a bug: When I set my own link description in Chinese words, they were turned to unreadable symbols at frontend of this component. That means this component does not support utf-8 encoded double-byte characters.
