I found this component to be excellent with regard to a community portal. It was easy to set up and works exceptionally well.
The only problem I found was that it really needs a Save/Cancel button at the bottom of the Add/Edit Event form. There is one at the top, but a user failed to find it after adding details. I went to the code to duplicate the buttons, but they had been commented out because of some issue with IE7. Hopefully this can be resolved.
For the commenter below mine insofar as adding events, I would say you have not set up your permissions in the back end.

Easy to set up with good instructions in the FAQ as to where to get your Flickr API key which is essential for using the module.
I found the module displayed thumbnails where on some lines they drop off like a cascading effect though, instead of a horizontal line of images. On going to the site, comments were locked and no place for asking questions or reporting bugs.
Given that this extension was last updated in May 2008, it may be getting a bit long in the tooth now.

This membership component is the best thing since beer was put into cans or they invented sliced bread, take your pick!
I had quite a complex membership system that needed to be implemented and selected this component to work with. Initially, it didn't meet our requirements exactly and the developers took the suggestions we made regarding the component and implemnted them immediately. Not only did they improve the extension, but they met the complex issues we faced with multi level memberships.
Superlative would not be an adequate adjective when trying to describe the support that was provided. Responses were extremely fast and I also know from watching the clock that many of them were sent in the early hours of the morning.
This extension is now working brilliantly on our site and I cannot recommend it and its developers highly enough.
Great job!!
Cheers,
