DJ-Classifieds
I needed a classified ad section for our club site that allows posting of ads by registered users only. This fit the bill perfectly, though you could set it up with access for any user.
Contrary to other reviews, I had no issues with the "contact seller" feature. When a user clicks and then fills out the form, the "seller" receives an email from the user, along with that user's required email address.
I had a slight issue with the sort order of categories but found a simple solution in the developers forum.
I also posted in the forum about the "tooltip with description hover" not working in the category view, but the developer replied quickly. Now I'm just waiting for the new release for the fix.
Thank you DJClassifieds for your hard work and dedication to this extension.

Kunena
I needed a forum that was a)simple to install and configure, and b)private - only registered users may view and access. This extension was perfect!
The documentation is well written and thorough. The forum for their forum is thick with developers' and users' input. I received a quick response to one inconsequential issue.
THANK YOU KUNENA!
JoomGallery
I needed a simple photo gallery that displayed thumbnails as well as a large version in a lightbox (in this case, a slimbox) for our local, non-profit pony club. This component gave me that plus so much more. The well-thought-out and well-written documentation made it very easy to set up and use quickly.
The batch upload feature is worth its weight in gold and allows you to assign your photos to a category quickly and easily.
I had a slight issue with the sort order of categories and sub-categories but after a post in the developers forum, I had a very quick solution: the JoomGallery Treeview Module.
I tried several other photo gallery extensions before I found this one. The others were either too complicated or had non user-friendly documentation and/or interfaces. If other developers followed the example set by this developer, Joomla extensions would be so much easier.
THANK YOU JoomGallery!

GCalendar
This was one of my first extensions on my first-ever Joomla site. Although I wasn't able to get it to work on a local (xampp) install, once the site was "live" (and server had php V.5+), everything worked excellent.
I needed a calendar for our local pony club that I could edit/update easily, and also assign specific people to update without accessing the back-end of the site. This extension gave me all that, plus the integration of Google maps for our events is a "hit" with our club members. I also enabled the "upcoming events" module which is real handy too.
The documentation is very good and also the videos I found at avmaximus were very helpful.
I had a slight layout issue with one of my templates and the developer answered very quickly in the forum with an easy fix.
A big THANK YOU to this developer for what must have been a ton of work ...all for free!
