So first of all there needs to be a field in the xml file to select how many menu items. Also any items you try to leave blank will re-autoopulate with a link to http://joomlaink.com, so in some broswers you'll just have random links for no reason.
Also just to clear up any mistaken assumptions, this module does not integrate in any way with the Joomla menu system. It merely allows you to create a different menu and enter the URLS for exactly 12 items BY HAND.
There is no provisioning for spacing, although that's easily fixed in css. Still shouldn't this really be included OOB? The other minor issues can be fixed in the code, but the module doesn't work with the Joomla menu system.
Having said all that. I did find this module useful, (!) after I made the necessary changes to its code, but wanted to make it clear to users beforehand what this module does and does not do. If I am mistaken about anything I welcome the opportunity to be corrected.
Hi compustretch
Thank you for review. This's very good review for me to develop the module. The module was tested on Firefox and IE only and I need more time to test on another browsers.
Now a day, for linking to http://joomlaink.com, you can change or put "#". In the future, I will try to integrate with the Joomla menu system.
If it's possible, could you tell me how did you make the necessary changes to its code, it will use to develop the module.
Thank you.
YMMV of course, but this is the one that rocks it for me.
Not sure what author means by importance of configuring it first, there are only 4 configuration options listed. This component has fewer config options than most other components for Joomla! I have seen.
Solving the thumbnails issue would make this a great OOB component.
Both users you mentioned got the component working by asking for support. The component is pretty straightforward, so please ask yourself if you are doing something wrong before submitting a bad review.
