dagnome
Also, it's a small thing, but the email that delivered my component did NOT include a URL for the developer's website, so there was NO way to KNOW, for sure, WHICH URL purchasers are supposed to go to in order to consult the help forums
when I DID, finally, guess WHICH website it is supposed to be, that website DOES NOT EXIST!
Ossolutions Team, please do better! And please add child menu linkages to this fine component!
After playing with it a bit on my Joom 1.0 site, it seems to time out rather quickly, without my actually be4ing able to download the compiled data!
VERY frustrating - I hope the developers might consider using AJAX on this, to prevent server timeouts... those of us who are on shared hosting are likely to encounter this problem.
BUT - A BRILLIANT IDEA!!!!!
Sorry to hear you had problems with the component dagnome.
If you post on the support forums I will be happy to walk you through how you can get around any problems you are having.
For those with similar issues, there a several work around on the export content support forums for sites with a large amounts of data or if they have all their data in the one section.
The easiest method being to break your data into smaller chunks by created a dummy section and then using the copy feature to move category(s)into it.
Then simply compile the new smaller section.
Note: After installing the data on the destinations site Export Content will allow you to set your new site structure up anyway you see fit.
What it can do in terms of Joomla site content personalization opens up a whole world of interaction between the site and its visitors!
Best of all, it seems to work for BOTH Static (Typed) and Dynamic (Section/Category) Content!
I"m diggin this 'bot a lot - thanks again MJAZ -
