Our company uses Joomla for alot of it's backend CMS implementations and they are usually customized with all kinds of custom modules, extensions and components. A recent client of ours had an existing site where they had a home grown zipcode locator written in ASP. Well, since we were porting everything over to Joomla, we decided to see what was out there and available that we didn't have to develop ourselves. That's when we came across Xtreme Locator.
We were very impressed with the loads of functionality that comes out of the box on the administration side. We were even able to build a custom search page totally integrated into our client's site and you would never know it was iframed in. I just want to say thanks for the guys at Xtreme Locator for also implementing a few of the mods we requested for additional functionality. The point is simple, until a better locator package comes out for Joomla (which I doubt will happen), I'm sticking with these guys.
