I am NO joomla core programmer or power user. I do not know jacascript or how to hack and wack a bunch of code to make it special. I am a one-man business owner wearing 25 different hats everyday trying to make it happen. The last thing I have time for is futzing around with css sheets, php files and hacking this to make that work.
I have a few iJoomla components including Ad Agency, iJoomla SEO and Guru. They all use the same backend basics, so once you know one it's pretty easy to learn the others, and they work as described.
But why I continue to come back to iJoomla and update/purchase their components, is Merav and her support team. In my experience, by far the best, most professional support team in the entire Joomla environment.
Any problems and they are on the job to help fix it, quickly. And, they have an ever-growing library of video tutorial to aid the learning curve - just awesome.
Many other developers could learn from that kind of support. More and more joomla users are like me, no time to sit in the basement and play trial and error for weeks on end.... want to sell more components, DO VIDEO TUTORIALS.
Guru, more than worth the $ investment for a guy like me.
Derek, what a nice review! We really love getting positive feedback like this, so that we know our efforts are not in vain. Thanks again for being a loyal customer :-)
I mark this fair, when really it is a good component - except for customer service. In that regard I rate it "very poor".
We are having page title, redundant meta data issues which is affecting our SEO and these things affect our page ranking. I have posted and re-posted in their forums without any results for over 3 weeks. I have sent emails direct to support without reply or any consideration.
We have a paid subscription to their themes and the ZOO component which costs us over $200 euros a year and this is their customer service. If service is important to your business, look elsewhere.
Well done, thank you!
Although it was a little confusing at first, I sent Martin an email and within 30 minutes he got back to me. I stopped by the forum and searched for a couple of answers and had the whole thing up and running within a couple of hours.
It installed super-duper easy, looks great and was a cinch to get the permissions to work exactly as described and exactly as needed.
This was truly a joy to find and employ - excellent work!
The plug-in itself is easy to install, looks great, is pretty straight forward - but it does not work when you have multiple mailing lists.
Even though there are options to include the MailChimp list ID - the plugin only sees the first list in your campaign window and adds new subscribers to that list only.
We have multiple subscriber lists and this plugin did not work for us, even after being unistalled and re-installed several times, always without success.
For this reason we have to rate it poor.
Actually, it does work fine with multiple mailing lists. In the module's configuration, there is a parameter for the list id. For some reason, there are actually TWO list ids for each mailchimp list. The tooltip for the parameter says to look in the url of your browser where you're editing the list and look for the 'id=' in the url and use that id. If you do this you will find that it works just fine with multiple lists. Do NOT use the ID from the html form mailchimp generates to manage your list. If you enter an invalid id, the module will default to the first list, as this reviewer states.
This is the best, easiest to use, completely intuitive, professionally supported component we have worked with in two years development. Nuff said.
Get it - you won't be disappointed.
