I tried the other leading modules before trying this one - don't know why I try this first!
This module maintains CSS from the article with no hacks or editing PHP.
What it does well (my opinion):
- "module template" setting lets you display or remove category, section, author, date, title, text, etc from the output
- "show images" lets you scale or use "as-is"
- "into / full text" - select what to get from the article
- can specify various categories or sections by ID or can specify individual articles. Very flexible.
It also sets up very easily and is so far bug-free (not a common attribute in this category).

I've been struggling with how to implement searchable tags for price, description, etc. Most components are not very flexible. When I saw this component and their demo site, I knew I needed to try it.
Unfortunately I was having trouble getting it working. I sent an email to the developer and immediately went about trying to fix the problem myself (I installed the J1.0 component and it worked (better)). I got a quick reply (Saturday afternoon for me, late Saturday night it Italy - I am impressed). The problem was in my web hosting company using older PHP. I was given the reason and directions to fix the problem - now it works like a charm. You need to set a config option called "script position" to "embedded".
This component is great. I can configure it to address different product descriptions, price range, or any other parameter and create a search matrix applicable to specific categories. It is exactly what I needed for a site with lots of content.
Now, I'm hoping for the ability to create a search results page that compares parameter values. For example: display the results of: "wine region=campania / alcohol=medium / price=low" against "wine region=campania / alcohol=medium / price=high" as a split screen comparison chart where other details of the respective items are available to compare.
Thank you to SolidSystems for a fantastic component.
