In fact it's impossible to place a negative judgement here. For me Easyblog does exactly what is expected. Of course there were some small issues but that's where their exceptional service comes up. I've never seen such a fast, friendly and high quality support before. They reply amazingly fast and even hack your code on the backend if necessary.
Thumbs up for the Easyblog team ! I hope you can keep this level of support.

I used RokGallery since day 1. On their website the demos simply look amazing and 'high tech'. However, as a serious photographer with lots of pictures and galleries you will hit against a wall of troubles/bugs and things that don't make sense.
For example: every good gallery software should make it easy to edit captions/titles on many pics together (listed on one or several page). With RokGallery it is picture per picture and VERY time consuming.
Also, it is impossible to recreate thumbnails for vertical images in a way that people's heads are not cut off. This should be basic functionality. So, in a RokGallery with vertical pics of people, the thumbs show headless people.
It is a fact that there is not much help to be expected on their forums for the more serious problems. Some of the moderators are really nice and want to help, but for some reason the complaints don't seem to reach the 'engineers'.
I followed all the upgrades, hoping for improvement but many months later, nothing changes at all. I finally decided to delete it and use another component. It was driving me crazy.
It is sad to see how such a new promising and modern piece of software in reality doesn't work like expected.
Again, good if you have one page of pictures, but useless for big galleries. You will waste a lot of expensive time.

This is exactly the extension that I was looking for. Just perfect !
Unfortunately, our site is very complex so we have to use the popular 'JCH Optimize' to get a better YSlow rating. The Rd Article Scrollbar module does not work with JCH Optimize in action! Even when I exclude the entire module in the JCH settings (including the js and css files) the module stops working.
I hope the developer wants to check this out because the Scrollbar module is too good to loose :-(

After experimenting endlessly with jUpgrade (advised by Joomla) I was about to give up till someone pointed me to this tool. jUpgrade fails miserably because it changes the menu item and category ID's and also some of the aliases. SP Upgrade managed to keep everything intact and that was exactly what I needed. For complex websites with thousands of internal links SP Upgrade seems to be the only tool on the market that does the trick. No hassle, fast, straightforward and very easy for normal users.
It is well worth the 20 euros.
A big thank you to the developer!

After following and testing this tool again and again till the 'stable' version I am very disappointed with the final results. The menu item ID's and the category ID's simply changed, even with 'Keep original positions' checked. Also many aliases changed.
Our website is huge and contains thousands of internal links and hundreds of external sites link to our articles.
The result of the migrating process with jUpgrade is very sad. Yes, all the content seems to be there, but many things are mixed up and most of the internal links are broken or point to wrong items. Many links from external sites result in 404 errors, etc...
Fixing all the problems manually is an impossible job.
I asked for support with a serious proposal to pay for it. No reply at all.
Fortunately someone gave me a golden tip to an alternative solution : sp upgrade
It took me less than an hour to migrate our entire site to 1.6. No errors at all, fast and straightforward. All ID's are kept intact. Friendly and fast support. Well worth the 20 euros for this piece of magic.
