I made my first image menu five years ago and it was such a pain! Between tweaking the javascript and the css, I was about to lose it. I have steered my clients away from image menus for the past 3 years but my latest client would not be detoured. Thanks to Simple Image Menu, it wasn't a big problem at all. Everything worked as stated in the documentation and I had an image menu, with nice mouse-overs with hardly any aggravation. (It looks so cool!)

One suggestion, it would be nice if we could include a css class for the unselected state. I had to use an html style tag to make those modifications.

Bottom line: it's worth the time to try this extension if you're setting up an image menu.

I've worked with other dropdown menu modules, so I may have the advantage of a bit of experience. Even so, this module was very easy to install and customize. I didn't purchase the documentation or the plug-in but, if I decide to do any fancy customization with the menu, I won't hesitate to pay for both. It would be a good investment in a menu system that I will be using for many clients. Job well done!! I recommend that you give it a try.

I wanted a captcha, ip address identification and banning, and a flexible layout. aiContactSafe gave me all that plus some functions I hadn't considered. There's a lot here, so take some time to look it over, read the explanations, consider the layout options. You'll be glad you invested the time.

As for support, Alex gets 6 stars. I ran into a problem when I got started, and I was a little cranky. Alex was patient, funny, and very helpful. He got us back on the right track and it was a very supportive interaction.

WiW Latest News provided just what I needed, a listing of articles as news item links which were easy to filter. I used this for a Hospital Foundation's website. I ran into a small problem with the implementation, contacted the developer and he was terrific - very responsive and capable. He was also amenable to suggestions for the module. I wanted to make a couple of customizations and that was easy too (and I'm not a very proficient Joomla programmer). I will use this module again for other websites and recommend you give it a try if you need a news listing of articles.

kBanners4Joomla saved me loads of time trying to place button and banner ads on specific pages of my website. It was well worth the $20. I would have given the product a 5 star rating but I didn't receive a reply to my e-mail with some questions. Eventually, I figured out the important stuff, made a modification to the code and everything works great. I recommend you give it a try.

If a month goes by that I don't have to fix or work around a bug in this system, it's fabulous. Shopping carts can be incredibly complicated but if your application is simple, find another extension. If you go with VM, you'll be spending hours searching the forum for solutions or recoding around the bugs. VM has incredible scope but you have to consider whether it's worth your time.

In a couple hours I had it loaded and completed restyled. It took a bit of tweeking to get the visitor and active highlighting to work the way I wanted, but it all works! Time and money well spent.

I needed a easy system for bringing up a lists of meeting minutes (pdf files) from our local schools and city councils. Jumplink installed easily, set up four different categories for four dropdown bars, and started entering the link. It works very easily and my client won't need any programming knowledge to maintain the lists.
