EventList
Overall I like this a lot but it can't alert users to changes in events. My users expect to be automatically notified of any new event at any venue by any group.

I use the J!Mail-Alerts component and plugin which does work well and solves *some*, but not all my issues.

EventList would be a much better component in my opinion if it natively handled emails to users of new events, new venues, etc, and let users choose which groups or venues to follow, along with an option to send alerts for any/all events/groups/venues by default.

That's the only reason I downrated it from 5 stars to 4.

J!MailAlerts
There were some showstoppers in earlier versions, but the developer has been active in the forums and addressed all my concerns.

I'm using this component along with EventList to send announcements about new events to users.

I have some issues with setup using Firefox 4, but with production browsers the component and plugin work fine.

There were some initial issues with the cron job but that is also working fine now (version 2.01).

If you use Eventlist, this is a great addition. You can also create a Joomla menu item for users to edit their subscription preferences, using the standard Joomla menu tools.

The component has many other plugins too - for Kunena Forum (latest posts etc), Phoca Gallery, Community Builder...

Now that 2.01 is out this is highly recommended.

Documentation is French is the same as "No Documentation".

The plugin installs and works, but the messages are in French and should not be. Last I checked, English, not French, was the most used language on the web.

Also, why bother to release something that can't use the Joomla language choice?

I appreciate the work of the developer, but come on, this is nonsense.

Release an ENGLISH version! Please...
Lof SlideShow for K2
I have very little time to troubleshoot. I need components that work out of the box, take little end user training and just work. This fits all my requirements. Awesome module if your needs are like mine. Sure it could be more customizable but as it is, this is great and made me look like a star to my client.

Joomulus for K2
The regular Joomulus package is all manual.

Make sure you grab the "K2 Joomulus" package, it is totally automated. Install, assign a position and done. Works perfectly for me.

If you have K2 installed this rocks. The Flash animation is very slick and professional looking. Well done.

This component needs more reviews, IMO. Plain and simple, it does what it says. I've tried a few RSS-to-article components and this one really seems to work well. Many tabs worth of options. I had it running on a live site in less than 10 minutes doing what I wanted. I've been very frustrated till now finding a free RSS component. Now the only hard part is finding quality RSS feeds, and that's as it should be. All I can say is these guys "set the bar" for free components. Well done.

Gotta say "me too" on this one...

It wasn't immediately intuitive but the PDF manual was very helpful and I got it going quickly. What else can I say - it just works. Thanks for a very useful module!

It's very buggy. It will totally break Joomla if used in an article with {loadposition myposition} and set to "content" mode - all that happens is a blank page.

K2 content does work fine regardless of where the module is placed.

Module does not display Virtuemart items in any position. I've duplicated this on my personal development server as well as live websites as well as posted a thread on the developers website but no help there.

I have to say I do like the way it can fade articles into each other but for Virtuemart it's worthless at least on the servers I've tested it on. I posted configuration details of the servers at the developer's website.

Thank you for your review.

We will continue developing our extensions with your suggestions.

- However as a side note the VirtueMart mode is working very fine. you might check the IT WineStore template
http://demo.icetheme.com/it_winestore/

where the module is working fine in the VM mode.

- Also regarding the loadposition it is working very fine also and we will use this great module with the loadposition option on our main website icetheme.com which we are just about to finish.
