The Joomla! Extensions Directory ™

This is a perty nifty little extension. To bad I don't run a boat club.;)

I installed it on my test site then spent the last couple of hrs or so creating an English language file, using a translator, of course, seeing as I ONLY speak English. LOL

It could use a bit more programming, tho, so that the newbie can use it. For instance... we here in America use the dollar $ and do not use the euro € and as far as we know we never will but then again look at how things are going here. LOL So I digress ;) This goes for the metric system, too... we use inches feet and yards instead.:s

It would be perty cool, too, if one could set up different or additional categories other than just the two boats listed in it now and this without having to edit the language file(s).

If this was done then it could be used like a very lite classified ads extension to list a whole multitude of things people might want to offer.

I give it 5 stars just because I think this extension is cool!!! I'd use it on my site in a heart beat if I needed to sell boats and I just might, anyway, if I decide to reword it and figure out how to add a few categories to it.

Now this is a great extension!!!

I just spent the entire day trying to configure JF (Y'all know which one that is) and seeing as I am not in the business of translating anything into other languages (mostly because I ONLY speak English) I finally un-installed it and went searching for one that would just let me get back to work on my site and then I found this module.

Now I'm wondering why I wasted an entire day on this because with this module I got what I wanted... A simple translator for my site & a whole bunch of peace of mind knowing that anyone who wants to use my site should be able to, now.

I just wish I'd found this module this morning!!!

From download to install to configuration I'm counting less than five (5) minutes!!! Compare that to an entire day and tell me which one you want to use.

If you need a translator on your website and need to get back to doing what you do best then this one is what you need to start with... Don't waist your precious time on anything else. This one right here will do EVERYTHING you're wanting it to do AND MORE!

I call it th The VW of Joomla! because it's just that. A very simple no flash no flare PMS system.

I see no need for all the fancy studd when all I need is a simple way for my site members & myself to be able to communicate with each other.

Great extension for my articles and for Joomla!

I want to throw my 2¢ worth in here for this great plugin.

I noticed that one reviewer wanted to be able to show the member's name instead of the username and I just went into the plugins folder on the server and looked in the content folder & found the MGetUsrName.php file (/public_html or www/plugins/content/MGetUsrName.php) and found this line where it says

else $username = $user->username;
=======
and replaced it with
=======
else $username = $user->name; and it worked.
=======
It placed the member's name in the article instead of the username but it would be nice to be able to do this without editing the script and, yes it would be nice to be able to choose either/or or even both if u wanted to but I like it just the same like it is.

I'm not a programmer just a really good hack so it kept me on my toes and brushed up on my skill of ... well you know. LOL

I too have to put my 2¢ents worth in and say GREAT WORK!!!

I use JoomSEF and it wouldn't let me edit the articles in the front end so I searched around a bit & figured out how to tell JoomSEF to not create SEF for this extension and whalla! it started working.

I look forward to figuring out how to make them work together as this is a much needed extention on my site.

I really don't know why some people want to point out to the artist what's wrong with their creation when 10 to 1 odds the critic has very little or no abilities to create it themselves.

That being said I am amazed that there are no praises for this extension seeing as I am not a programmer but a consumer & even I can appreciate such an awesome piece of work.

My hat's off to the creator of this extension and seeing as it fills a major need I didn't know I had before I discovered this I would have to be without it if it's creator had not saw a need to create it.

I hope this makes sense to ya... In short what I am saying is GREAT WORK & KEEP IT UP!!!

P.S. Maybe the other critic should get around to creating a better extension IF he/she has the ability to instead of telling how inferior this one, supposedly, is.

I won't hold my breath to see if that happens & probly would not use it if they did.

P.S.S. I'm just sorry that I can only give 5 stars for this extension seeing as, IMO, it's worthy of 10+ stars.
