FreiChat
I managed to get this set up straight away with no issues. It works as expected cross-browser and it's integrated into my current project really smoothly. For a free extension, this has really impressed me.

The custom theme editor in the back end only seems to work properly in Chrome, but this doesn't detract from the core functionality, which is why I'm still rating this extension as 'Excellent'.

User Article Manager
I've used the Article Manager on a couple of sites now and have found that it gives me just the right amount of control over article submissions from site users.

I would agree with other commenters that it would be really useful to be able to delete an article entirely from the manager. Currently the most that can be done is put it into trash. However, this is a wish list item - the extension is already good enough in my opinion for an 'Excellent' rating.

Kazaam!
I have a custom style on my site's home pages, but any articles that weren't assigned to a menu were automatically inheriting that style. This plugin fixed that issue for me by automatically assigning new articles to the Kazaam menu, allowing non-techy users to submit articles without having to mess around with menus to get their articles to display properly.

Saved me a lot of messing about - thanks :)

Nice Content Access Lite
I've tried a couple of other content restriction plugins which were fine, but were limited to the standard user groups. this one allows restriction by custom user groups, which was exactly what I needed for the project I was working on. This is the first extension I've used from Trinitonic - very happy so far :)

OSE File Manager™
I was looking for a File Manager for Joomla 1.7 and was disappointed that NinjaXplorer wasn't available for 1.6+ yet. I needn't have worried because OSE has proved to be exactly what I was looking for.

I can now access anywhere on the server, even if files aren't directly part of the Joomla set-up. That gives me a lot more flexibility, especially not having to mess about the FTP when I want to edit any code remotely that's not normally accessible from the administration panel.

The only proviso I would give is that you do get a lot more access to the server than you might have realised, which you need to bear in mind if you're planning to give back end access to your clients.

However, for me it's spot on and is firmly on my 'essential extensions' list.

Excellent work :)
