Nothing short of excellent in my opinion, which is why I am puzzled this does not have a full 5 star rating.
Works every time I use it (with Firefox) and there has never been any issues with the upgrades at all.
I set-up a second copy of the site (using akeeba) and upgrade that second site. I then have a fresh install of 1.7 and then import the data from the upgraded site to the new 1.7 install. Very easy to do.
Thanks for this component.

It amazed me when they released Joomla 1.6 that they still did not include a decent file manager. While the media manager exists it is a far cry from a proper and really useful file manager.
Fortunately there is an add-on that fills this gap, OSE File Manager and what a great add-on it is. It works well and does what I needed, no errors, easy installation and works straight out of the box. Well worth the 5 stars.
The only thing that I could suggest to improce it is an AJAX type file uploader where we can select multiple files all at once to upload instead of one for each upload box. Though I am sure the developers will read this and soon this will be added, so hence the 5 stars will remain :)
Keep up the great work guys and again thanks for OSE FileManager.

What a relief it was to find this add-on for Joomla, really the Joomla developers really need to STRONGLY consider adding a tool like this to the core of Joomla as it is a real necessity these days.
Installed without any issues at all, although I did have to use Google to translate the download site from French to English but that was fine.
In the first hour it stopped 15 spammers from registering.... what else could you ask for. As soon as I have some spare $'s a donation is definitely going to the developer.
Thanks

I think my title says it all. I have developed a number of sites and most people feel that the standard Admin for Joomla is too awkward and has too many functions so they get confused. Along comes this template and wow so much customisation and it is FREE.
Results are great, others like the layout better and it will now be a standard install on all of our Joomla sites.
Thanks for a great job to all the Developers.

I have used quite a few meta tag management extensions, however most others are too complex or have a few issues that that are yet to be resolve, this one is by far the simplest and easiest to use and it functions as it says it will.
If you use this extensions, make sure you READ the instructions available in the PDF file downloadable for this extension and it will save you time and allow you to really use this small tool to the maximum benefit.
The use of the '$' syntax at the end of each URI enables you to control each and every items matadata, it cannot get any simpler :)
Well done to the Dev's on this one (donation has been sent) and I look forward to any future updates and other any other extensions from you.

Great component once you get the hang of it and work out the best way to use it, which was easy as I just asked the guys at RS and within a few hours I got a very detailed response.
I am not sure why others seem to have problems with data being lost, ours is fine even after a page refresh.
Anyway like all RS extensions this is another one to add to your Joomla Site Shopping basket.

How easy and useful is this component to install and use. Works like a charm and helped me stop trying to get search plugins for all my components - excellent - I would recommend this to everyone :)
May I pass on my thanks to the developer for making this available, donation will be on its way shortly as this is well worth a donation.

Easy to install (Joomla 1.5.17) with no errors :)
Easy to use, easy to follow, although instead of 'tags' maybe call it 'Menus' and you might want to add after install some text to say 'publish the module in Admin modules and turn off the Joomla standard Admin menu module'
I tried a variety of other tools as well as shortcuts but this is so much better as I can control the grouping of all my components - thanks guys keep up the good work.

I have only just started testing this plugin as I was searching for a way to include my sobi2 clones in the main sites search results. While Alex has tried to be helpful there are a few issues still to be ironed out with this plugin.
1. I have no SOBI2 install, all my sobi2 installs are specific clones. So first install failed, but this is not really an issue with the plugin, more the way I have setup my clones. However the plugin gives a warning not to clone, but this is exactly what I did to get mine to work. I modified the plugin calls from sobi, Sobi and SOBI to myclone, Myclone and MYCLONE and then it worked. Though as the warning states no more clones are required you can add the rest of your clones into that one. (you don't need to do this if you have a standard uncloned sobi2 already installed).
2. I allow formatting in a couple of fields by the use of the built in WYSIWYG editor within sobi2. Problem is that the search plugin not only shows the html code in the results but it also searches on the code itself, for example create a few entries with some tables in them and give the tables a border (just for the sake of testing) and then do some other formatting like bold etc, now do a search for something that would be in the html, like 'border' and you will see what I mean.
I am still trying to work out how to get around number 2, Alex thus far has no solution but I am sure he will come up with one soon.
So other than that it is a nice addition to enable searching of your sobi2 entries etc in your main search. Just take note if you allow text styling etc in any of your fields.

I read the existing reviews and took note of the responses by the developer and thought I would try it. I mean it is only a small amount to try correct.
So anyway I purchased a short subscription, I installed the banner system and most of it worked but there are a few issues such as the date start and from and the placement of the various functions to make it useful.
I could not get it to work unless I edited the settings via phpmyadmin which makes this component next to useless. It would seem others as per their forums have had similar issues. The author seems to blame the users templates but I have tested on core templates and my own and no difference.
I also provided feedback to the developer on his forums but the time for responses was VERY long to nil in most cases. Lookign through the forums while I did have access (you need to subscribe for access) it would seem that the support is lacking in that the time of responses in most cases is way too slow and really makes the subscription worthless.
If you need support ask your questions quickly, as your subscription may run out before you get an answer - which is I am sure a ploy by the developer so you renew - sorry not me, I will not pay for a solution that is not supported. If it was free and unsupported that is fine but with payment comes and expectation that support also is provided.
This is a shame as it did look like what I needed but unless the author can support it better it will not get any better.
The subscription model being used is poor in my view, but hey if you like to pay for no support then go for it. My advice is for anyone looking at this is to find an alternative solution.

This is ok for the most part but it needs more work and is not yet ready for production site.
The image conversion is poor from what I have tested even with a 90 quality setting. It also needs to be able to convert to same file type - e.g. if the image is a jpg leave it as a jpg for the thumb as well, if it is a gif, leave it as a gif and so on.
Or better yet add an admin function to enable the setting of the file format the thumb should be created as either globally or for each section or file type.
The admin paramaters needs to be tabbed as it is too long, set it up into tabbed sections.
As said this is fine but not yet mature enough for production site.

Seems odd to me some of teh other reviews, maybe they are asking too much of this as it is designed to be a photo gallery for SOBI2 and it does this very well.
I do not charge fees for listings on my site so payment options were not needed and for me this is a winner for all my users who have taken to this feature like ducks to water - thanks again Neo and Trinity.

Over the last several weeks I have been testing a number of different form components. I left RSForms to last as it was a buy to own one - I only wish I started with RSForms first. If you have ever heard of the p[hrase 'you get what you pay for' well let me save you some time - with RSForms you get more that what you pay for.
It is a credit to the developers on making such a great tool - all I can say is a BIGG thank you.

I think my title says it all, this really is the BEST component out there, and I have used many.
Not only is the component easy to install, it is also easy to use, easy to customise, and to top it all off - and this is why this is the BEST - it has Excellent support from Trinity and Neo, second to none.
The forums are constantly monitored by both Trinity and Neo as well as many others (plus myself) all willing to help anyone that needs it.
There is also the ability if you need to clone the SOBI2 system, so you can have more than one running for different sections of your site, I have 6 - yep 6 and they all work brilliantly.
SOBI2 also has a host of add-ons, a number free and a few commercial, which I have used both, and I am more than happy to pay for some of the add-ons to help Neo and Trinity keep on developing SOBI2, but please don't think you 'need' the commercial add-ons, because you don't that is up to you.
To sum up if you need any sort of directory system SOBI2 will fit the need and more, no need to look elsewhere - just brilliant!!
Thanks again to Trinity and Neo :)

Nice and easy to install and configure the base use of the ad system. However it greatly lacks the ability to customise the look and feel of the ad system in general.
While it allows you to add and remove and place fields in a few places the actual look and feel and styles and editing the system would be too daunting for most.
It uses one css file so it is easy to make a few cosmetic modification's but unless you have good php and html experience the rest of the customisation is a - do at your own risk - situation as I felt that even the code with the base html file (adsmanager.html.php) has insufficient detailed comment to follow it clearly.
I hope the developer takes my comments as being constructive criticism and keeps developing it and separates the html and css into a template based system, I suggest something like what has been done with SOBI2 as an idea that the developer may want to look at for future development of this ad system.
So to sum up, if you want to install as is and not change much go for it as it will do what you need. If you need customising of how it looks but are not good at HTML or PHP stay clear of it or hire someone to help.
