I have owned the Pro version of this product since 2008 and it has been 100% problem free up until about 1 month ago. When it works, it saves the administrator quite a bit of time with software updates. However, recently, serious cracks in support, unresponsiveness to tickets/email, lack of supported application updates have surfaced. Until support issues get worked out I think it's probably best to avoid this product and perform updates to your joomla site manually.
