Comparing the Free version of Acajoom News to PHPList, PHPList wins because it has an auto-responder that requires subscribers to CONFIRM their subscription. Without an auto-responder, a malicious user could unscrupulously subscribe anyone that this user pleases for whatever nefarious purposes this user has in mind.

I've unpublished this as it doesn't yet satisfy my needs...everyday I am being draw further and further away from Joomla as it too is diverging from the concept of open source. Freeware does mean free beer!

Acajoom News (the free version) provides an option to send a confirmation e-mail when a user subscribes to your Mailing list.
So this user will receive an e-mail that you can customize and will have to click on the link to really confirm his subscription and be added to your Mailing list. The feature described by igmuska really exists in our free version.

It's a simple misunderstood...
What we call an 'autoresponder' is a powerful Marketing tool to follow your users and not a simple confirmation e-mail.
