RokNewsFlash
This is a really easy to use component - just install and configure and it displays newsflashes from sections or categories as easy as that.

However two gripes with it. First: with IE it does not work properly. I have mavix thumbnails in use as well, and on pages where there is a thumbnail (and mavik kicks in with its css and scripts etc.) the newsflash works fine. On pages without any thumbnails it does not work ... it simply displays the news in columns! It works fine on all other browsers I tested.

Second: you cannot get any support unless you're a paid-up member of rocket theme ...

Phoca PDF
This plug-in enables you to tailor the PDF generation capability for articles. I have used it to add my own hgeader and footer to PDFs (including for example a copyright statement and some info on the site) which the standard PDF does not let you do. I use this in a simple way and for that it is perfect.

GCalendar
Having looked at various calendaring extensions, none of them seems to be both as easy to use and as rich as Google Calendar.

So the only answer is to embed a Google calendar in your Joomla site! And this extension does that a treat. Really easy to use, provides a few different options - all in all this is highly recommended.
Bible Study
I looked at a couple of extensions before selecting this one. Other extensions were too simple - this has the necessary capabailities to allow more than simple list of messages. You can filter by preacher, year, subject, Bible book etc. and can easily create links to specific series for example. May take a bit of thinking through to get your head around it, but once you invest a little time it really enables you to reap the reward.

The podcast feature is great and it supports various media types. I like the way in which you can combine textual notes with the media of messages if required.

Highly recommended if you want more than just a basic sermons extension.
