DPCalendar Lite
I love this and have used in many sites I've developed.

GCalendar is simply the most versatile Event Calendar extension suite there is, hands down. You can either have a traditional calendar, or an agenda-like list of events, or a list of regular weekly events. You can have more than one module, with different events from the same agenda by using different word/tag filters (in a website I developed for a church, I can have two different "Upcoming Events" modules, one for the regular weekly events and other for special and unique events to come just using a word filter).

Just once I had a small issue with the spinning wheel of death, but after resizing the calendar to a slightly smaller size, it worked wonderfully (just a heads up if anyone else has this issue).

Anyway, I don't have enough words to praise such wonderful set of extensions.

Deluxe News Pro
I don't really understand the bad reviews for this and the good reviews for all other extensions that are supposed to do the same thing but are immensely more tedious to set up and easy to screw up.

Deluxe News Pro works wonderfully: easy to set up, highly customizable, doesn't misbehave esoterically (i.e., it behaves exactly like it's supposed to; there are some others which simply "quit" working misteriously, with no reason or explanation and don't work again even when you reset the module to the previous state when it was working; but that's not the case with Deluxe News Pro), I mean, it's just perfect.

I don't know how I could live without this extension, the only Latest News extension for 1.7 which does the job flawlessly.

Phoca Gallery
Phoca Gallery has so many options it's a it overwhelming, but once you get it's rewarding. Many sites my partner and I develop make use of this handy extension.

And upgrading Phoca Gallery from Joomla 1.5 to 1.7 was a treat, although it took a while for us to figure it out (as there isn't a migration script for it yet). All you need to do is follow this video, which does the trick:

I hope that it helps anyone who had the same doubt as me :)

Phoca Download
I can't believe this is for free. Seriously, the developer is a hero for doing so many extensions (my partner and I use quite a few of them in the websites we make) free of charge.

And everything he does is top-notch, my personal favorite being Phoca Download: you can use it whether you need a simple download directory for your registered users or a cool video gallery with nice little video players neatly disposed with a download button for every video, all in a single page (no waste of time).

While one can complain about the copyright line which comes in all Phoca extensions, it's something so minimal near the high-quality (and nice results...and happy clients of ours, webdesigners) that's ridiculous to nag the developer about it. And after all, Jan (the developer) asks for no more than some little help in exchange for removing the copyright backlink, not necessarily financial help (such as translations, for example).

Keep up the great work Jan!

Smart Slider 2
"Have you ever dream about the perfect Slider extension for Joomla?"

Yes! And the Offlajn crew has made this dream come true.

Wonderful extension: does what any other can't do (no other offer so many functionalities), easily configurable through a very cool and functional panel (seriously, you get it working in less than two minutes, without the hassle of all the others), beautifully designed, and the best - there are so many customization options that it looks like you have not one extension, but five or six (if not more).

I suggest everyone who's not sure whether to use this extension to visit Offlajn's site. Don't forget to hold your jaw firmly in place, because after seeing the demos *and* the price...chances are that it'll drop with all the awesomeness ;)

Cheers from a *very* happy customer!
