I rarely leave a negative review, but I have to say I haven't been impressed with this extension so far. I chose to use JCal for its Joomla 1.5 support.
Well my client keeps coming back to me with bugs (like time/date differences between the backend/frontend displays), upgrading is a 14-step process, and event repeating is too basic (for example, you can't repeat an event on the 2nd Monday of every month).
I realize that bugs get dealt with so hopefully these issues are resolved, but out of the many, many extensions I've worked with over the years this has had the most problems out of the box with just doing it's most basic functionality right and with bugs overall. Sorry, but there you have it.

Bug-fixing the Joomla 1.5 version has been on-going but we are close now to a stable release. Once this version is stabilized, we will be adding robust support for recurring events.

I love this form creator. There's a forms wizard if you don't want to get your hands dirty, or if you need more control over the way your form is set up and displayed, you can import/modify the HTML. That's probably enough for most users, but the additional ability to process php adds a ton of flexibility... even if your skills are only limited.
One other HUGE selling point: I have NEVER seen better response times or helpful answers on the part of a developer (and Bob) in a forum! It makes the component even more useful. Definitely worth getting the optional license if only as a way of thanking them.

This component makes it easy to display data and edit it in the backend once you've imported it from another database. Great for moving data from a proprietary MySQL database to work in Joomla.
The admin area will be getting some more powerful data manipulation controls soon, and I'm very excited about those.

This extension worked great for me. I didn't find any kind of meaningful documentation about how to use it, but thankfully it's pretty self-explanatory. Tell it how to connect to the old database, select what you want to import, and then go to another button to start the process. Very easy, very helpful!
I have used this tool to import thousands of users with numerous fields in addition to the core fields. I was very impressed with how easy and solid it was. I expected to encounter bugs of sort with this level of usage, but have found it more stable that similar import tools I have used elsewhere.
I hope the ability to change user accounts' Enabled/Disabled settings via CSV will be added, but really have no complaints whatsoever. Kudos to the developer!

I was getting real frustrated about not being able to make content appear in some of the places I needed it, and then I stumbled across this little beauty. We're not talking about adding major functionality to Joomla, but it sure does keep Joomla working for me instead of me working for Joomla. (And it looks like I'm not the only one with this need either!) Cheers!
