News Show Pro GK4
I used this module like 8 month ago and wasn't pleased with it. Now I moved to Joomla 2.5 and K2 and with all the options this module is probably the best news slider there is right now. Installed and running in 1min, now I have to adjust css. I tried all the other modules, but most are missing k2 support or are limited in showing k2 article details. Only module fetching the main k2 image. Have to check if it displays the rating.

In case you want to improve, show video, gallery and attachement icon when published in k2 so reader knows this article has extra media.

If they keep up the good work, this will be number one choice displaying news frontpage.

Thanx

JComments
We all waited for Joomla 2.5 - JComment 2.3 and developer just released a working version. Probably some little fixes still need to be made, but so far everything looks great. There are so many options in backend, good translations and customization works easy as well.

Considering this is a free release a big thank you goes out to the developer SMART and everybody who helped...donation coming soon

AutoTweet NG
Moved from All Article Announce (Commercial) to this extension on Joomla 2.5. All Article Announce was cutting my intro text on FB which looked pretty stupid. Also there are no extended options in backend.

Within 5min I installed this pretty extension. Very easy to setup and use once you find your Facebook ID and Access Token within the FB App (it's all on one page within the app page).

Some nice rules in the backend in order to adjust the status message being displayed. Works as needed.

Highly recommend the free version and pro if you need more then FB and Twitter. Nice job so far...

JCK Editor
stand alone a simple editor...but with all those plugins a very powerful editor. file permission was important to me as well as image manipulation on the fly. i recommend it very much even though support in forum is a bit limited or slow once and a while. they probably can't deal with a lot of request, but by now there is not much to ask for...this editor is very close to be perfect and I hope they keep up the good work

JBolo!
JBolo has issues on my Joomla 1.7.2 site for 3 month now.

- Can't see any member online
- There is a language issue with the status

Same with previous 1.7 Joomla releases. I used my paid support, but no solution yet. I even set up a testsite to help support nail the issue.

I think this module is becoming outdated and as I mentioned: buggy on my site that has no other major issues.

Answer to my request if JBolo is Joomla 1.7 ready was yes when I purchased...checking on other solutions right now! Wouldn't go for it again...
Owner's reply

Hi

JBolo has been working on Joomla 1.7 since version 2.9.2. However since then, there were some issues reported on multi language sites when using Internet explorer.

These issues have been solved in the latest release 2.9.5. As of now there are no known problems with JBolo & Joomla 1.7 & its fully compatible with Joomla 1.7.X

The language issue with "status" is because you did not translate the 2 required files in other non-english language.
If you completely translate the 2 needed files , translation will work correctly with language filter plugin.

AllVideos
Nice Player which I consider using on my site. But right now I can't see how to edit language within the menu (share/embed etc.) or even hide parts of the menu or the whole menu if I don't want to offer those options. Therefore I can't use it on my german site.

bo:VideoJS
I checked out AllVideos...you can't really use it stand alone since it is not that easy to customize (e.g. hide share or language)...your module is perfect stand alone. It is simple and worked right away. In my case I needed a stand alone player for a lawyer office with nothing but the video. Your player is perfect!!! Thank you very much...

Include Component
Looking for a way to use e.g. multi blog layouts on 1 page. This author knows what is needed and his support is even faster then on some membership pages. He answered right away and also takes a look at issues. This extension should be part of core or at least rated good since it is very essential when working with Joomla. Nice job and thank you for kind support! Germany...

Akeeba Backup
I took the pro version with admin tools right from the start. Excellent documentation, excellent support. My request was solved within 1 hour. Now it is really just 1 klick and I got a zip that has it all. Setting up a testsite using this live zip is just as easy. I copy zip and a single php file in my new folder on web space, access the php in my browser, set details for my site and new database...that's it...done...

I feel secure now, knowing I can backup with 1 klick and not missing anything. Futhermore I can set a timer to auto backup.

Frontend-User-Access (pro)
I tried the free version to see what it offers. Easy to understand, intuitive navigation and lots of features to hide stuff. This is what I was looking for. Looks like it is really a stand alone extension that you can unistall any time without messing up site or content. I will get pro even though 60 EURO is not that cheap. But a 1 time payment thats probably worth it. Only thing missing right now are button plugins for JCK Editor and TinyMCE with specific noedit code for specific authors. Nice extension!

mavik Thumbnails
I was looking for a way to upload and keep original image, have thumbs in blog view and a medium image or original image on article site, if needed resize image and auto thumbnail generation. I wanted to add just path to original image within article, so I am not dependent on a specific extension. This way I can move images and just edit path in database for all or go on with another extension once support of used one expires with future joomla extensions.

Mavik thumbnails does all this and right now is my favourite solution for adding images in articles. Very nice work!!! I actually tested your extension because it was ready for Joomla 1.6!!! Greetings from Germany
