It looks like there is a very poor selection of vertical pop-up menus for Joomla, and most of them have a goofy style or require a lot of hand-coding. Not Moomenu CK - it's perfect! It re-displays your existing menu, using your existing style, but with very sophisticated moomenu. It's simple, easy to use, and EXACTLY what I wanted. Thanks!
(The site and the plugin are in French, but it's so simple that I didn't have any trouble understanding.)

Make sure you get the latest version; it says "beta" but I haven't had any problems with it. The older "stable" version doesn't work with Joomla 1.5, even under Legacy Mode. But the new version works great. No complaints!
