I would suggest two things:
1) It would be great if a more complex ordering parameter was available, like: most recent articles first AND most matches first.
2) There should be some way to hide the module in case user is not browsing an article page rather that showing a "Text If Not An Article" message.

Thanks for the nice review. On your point (2), you can control this with the style attribute of the JDOC statement in your template for the given module location. For some styles, the module will always show. For other styles, the module will not show if there are no matches. On point (1), it would be great if you could submit a feature request in the project tracker. Thanks!

First of all there is lack of user-friendly interface, documentation. The component's parameters and configuration is so messed up that it needs a day to find what you need.
The documentation is low, and it explains only the necessary basics.
The support forum is actually "supported" by 2 or 3 people and it's a matter of luck if you get an answer to your questions. It actually depends of the question, if it's easy or difficult to answer...
Also the component is not easily customized... and I'm talking about really customization, not about changing the text-color and the border-color.
There's a lot of work to be done....

This is a very useful component, simple to use and it does what is says.
There should be some documentation though. People might have questions.
No documentation is a big disadvantage for me, no matter how simple a component might be.
