I found this plugin which allows for that although it is also called a GA plugin, it basically seems to add any javascript you specify before the HEAD tag and before the BODY tag
So maybe by changing the name, and expand its use, more people may realize, it can be used for many other purposes then just Google Analytics.
It seems to be the easiest plugin to add additional Javascript at the end of the HEAD section, and at the end of the BODY section (without needing to mess around with publishing modules with scripts etc...)
I use it now for Google (end of HEAD section) and my Quantcast snippet (end of BODY section)
so ... very useful plugin !!

The only (2) thing(s) I miss with this plugin :
- the ability to split the snippet (the basic part before the closing HEAD tag and the rest just before the closing BODY tag
- the ability to use/add additional customizations to the trackercode (see http://code.google.com/apis/analytics/docs/gaJS/gaJSApi.html)
I did find another plugin which allows for that (http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/site-management/site-analytics/11843) although it is also called a GA plugin, it basically seems to add any javascript you specify before the HEAD tag and before the BODY tag
But as said : Openpotion AS GA : does what is claims to do, easy and stable, so I'll be using it on some of my sites

Yeah... we admit it... we keep it simple. Otherwise modifying the template is the best idea. Also, greatest speed gains are achieved by loading all of the code up top... splitting is only recommended by google if there are conflicts, because it is slower.
I needed to have something like a Genealogy component, but most Genealogy addons I found were leaning on external tools, very complex, and not suited to convert to a pedigree
This component (I'm actually testing with the beta version 2.0) seem to come close to what I need.
I like the visual representation of the tree, if it now could be a little bit more enhanced, this will become a great pedigree component!
I did have some requests/comments which I send to the developer, who replied quickly. We yet have to see how fast certain requests can be implemented, but I've good hopes.

I would use this on all my joomlasites .... if it worked on all of them ...
But sadly there seems to be an issue or conflict with Joomlacomment?
On pages where the Joomlacomponent is active, it does not seem to work.
No issues at all on my sites without Joomlacomment!
I hope it gets fixed, because I would like to use this one over all other rating/starring plugins
it only includes blog or entries from that network, although you may be able to tie a "book" to your site, it all seems to be managed, stored, ... on their site
it looks good, if that is what you want to include
BUT : I strongly suggest to include that in the description, as it may be an unpleasant surprise for some people. As this touches the thin lines around privacy and security
e.g. sites which have disclaimers on what they do with the data of their registered users, have no control on what iBook will do with their registration information.
