JUGA just works. It is somewhat time consuming to set up, and you do have to set permissions for everything, but it is extremely powerful, with many options for how you control content or backend access.
Nearly all the complaints I had about it have been addressed in the new release.
Well worth paying for.

Installed easily, imported my Contacts easily. Captcha did not show up at first, even though it was turned on and hosting config met the requirements. I emailed the developer, who responded promptly with a request for more info, and then a suggestion for the solution. Tried it, and it worked.
Had to go to Components -> Qcontacts -> Contacts, and click on the name of the contact the form was for, then click on the Email Parameters tab on the right, and then set Show Captcha to Yes in there (for some reason the contact did not pick up the Global Default setting). Worked beautifully after that!

I was so tickled to see this plugin adapted to Joomla. I've installed it as a standard on every Joomla site I own, and some of my client sites. If someone would release a stand-alone version, it would be on every domain I set up.
