JComingSoon
Here's the on-line placeholder you've been waiting for, one that fills in all those gaps your base Joomla installation leaves. It's attractive, masks those telltale giveaways that reveal your CMS identity, easily configurable and easily customizable via CSS and image file manipulation. The plug-in's clever trigger options fire actions without additional admin intervention. It not only tells visitors when they can expect your site back on-line, it lets them request an alert and turns things back on at the proper time. Your site remains functional even when it's not functioning. That's a LOT of benefits for a comparatively token fee.

Let me add a congratulatory note to the developer. Rarely does one encounter so customer-service oriented an individual. So responsive was he to suggestions, that I almost feel I had a hand in this products development.

Don't hesitate to make this item standard equipment!!!

EXTREMELY flexible add-in with a wealth of features. It's one of the few script modules of this type that I can get to work reliably with gantry templates. A few enhancements would make it perfect. First, the ability to reverse the vertical path so add-in images can be made to rise instead of just fall. Second would be a duration field to fade out the graphics after a set period of time. A one incidence per session feature would take the cake. Here's hoping we'll see one or more of these by next Christmas.

Simple, flexible extension that works out of the box and can be configured in minutes. The only thing I see missing in the backend is a module class modifier field.

Floating Particles
I'd love to give this plug-in a 5, but the majority of scripts won't start on the two sites I've attempted to load this plugin into. Images load, but don't move. Those scripts that do work (balloons and bats) are among the best I've seen, so I hope the problem with the others can be corrected. There's no support forum, FAQ, knowledgbase or troubleshooting guide on the authors site. Calendar start/end dates would be a nice lucky strike extra, but aren't key.

Ok, I'm back from holiday. Don't know why the scripts didn't run on your sites, maybe its a conflicting JS. Today I setup a forum on joomlashare, please feel free to register and explain your problem there.

I'm amazed to find that developers that put out much needed products as clever as this just can't seem to find the time to run them through W3C code validation. I wouldn't use an open source solution that breaks compliance, much less pay for the privilege. The showcase demo page for this commercial extension shows 23 errors, That's more than a good alternative that simply seeks contributions, and there's no reference to the problem in the product description here or on the developers web site. The community deserves to know about this in advance of purchase. With a bit more work, you've got a flagship product here.

This is potentially a great component. It's supporting extensions work well together and have great utility, but there are simply too many coding errors to be usable on a production site. Many appear to be simple cases of using hte incorrect case. Would well be worth the effort.

I've gone through much of the code and re-vamped it to generate XHTML 1.0 compliant markup and to be OK for strict PHP 5.3 compatibility. The entire frontend now validates as XHTML 1.0 compliant via w3c.org validation. There is one exception: the flashplayer thermometer is embedded via an OBJECT tag and an EMBED tag. These are not W3C/XHTML standard compliant. Yet, there is no way to embed the dynamic flash thermometer without these tags. Hence, this exception to complete W3C compliance remains.

Front-End Article Manager - Article Creator
This is a handy utility package that, in conjunction with the complementary deleter package, makes it easy for casual contributors with privileges to add and delete articles to web sites. Step-by-step reference documentation is fairly easy to follow, though back-end management is somewhat confusing at first. Standard download wouldn't load editor in IE8, and administrative messages are incorrectly generated. Email response was slow, and many forum issues appear to go unanswered for long periods or contain only cursory response information without detail, even when solutions are reported. This particular product appears to require and would benefit from a tune-up.
w3c Valid XHTML/CSS Buttons
It's shameful how many web sites that fail validation improperly display xhtml/css compliance links. This module provides an easy way to progressively test and post verification stamps on a page-by-page basis. The designer rates a 14 on the 10 point conscientiousness scale. His replies to my suggestions were fast, courteous, thorough and professional. His turnaround times went far beyond what I've encountered on some paid projects. I can only imagine how good he is at supporting his paid extensions!

For a first effort, you "done good". Those who have problems with image appearing should eliminate write permissions on server. Just run this through an html purifier to clean up some minor &amp, open Div and parsing errors that break xhtml compliance and you've got a hit on your hands. Hats for for being first out of the box with a much needed 1.5 contribution.

Hi Thanks for the encouraging words. I have just released version 1.5.1 for Joomla 1.5.x and also version 1.2.1 for Joomla 1.0.x which both provide a slight cleanup of the code. Although I couldn't find the open div tag you mentioned? Can you suggest a good open source html purifier?

Nice looking module and it certainly puts options at your fingertips. In common with so many other extensions of this type, it breaks xhtml compliance when installed. Really wish more developers would test this before posting.

Calendar Icon
Adds a nice flair to any article display, but it generates a number of W3C compliance errors that aren't strighforward fixes. Correct these, and wrap in an option for a border surround, and you have a winner. Dont' think there's an alternative at present for 1.5

Event Table Edit
Nice work. Looks and functions great. The application would really sing if you could now incorporate some type of search function. Once the table list grows long, scrolling becomes tedious.

Thanks a lot.
A search and filter function is discussed at the moment on the components website. I think it will be included in one of the next versions.

Tabs & Sliders (for articles)
Nice program with plenty of applications that works flawlessly in Internet Explorer. Strangely, Firefox refuses to recognize this bot when run in a substantive number of templates, especially those with javascript includes. The moving "moshowhead" tip works for some, not for others. Remember to check yours in Firefox as part of your testing process.
