OurSiteSolution Moolah
The demo video and descriptions make this extension sound perfect for a project I'm working on but the Test Drive was a complete waste of time.

The Admin Panel is un-intuitive and missing features like payment processors. The ACL feature is broken. There is no clear way to link to a product from the menu manager.

This review was written January 18, 2012 and the version tested was Trial 1.1.4. As of this writing I think it should be classified as Beta or Release Candidate.

I can see the potential and hope they continue to develop this extension.

I think we were able to clarify some issues with this user via e-mail. Moolah is not an ACL component and does not sell products. You can sell memberships and subscriptions, and obviously process payments ( but not with the free trial version, sorry ).

@montano, some your feedback (via e-mail) was very useful and we are incorporating those ideas into our 1.2 release. We often see questions from prospective users via e-mail and our website, and I think contacting us earlier would have saved you some headaches. Anyways, good luck in the future.

ACL Manager
This extension makes managing access to ANY item in your Joomla site simple. It is one of the most intuitive extensions I've ever seen published in the JED. Even if you don't have an understanding of access control levels, once you install this extension the concept becomes much clearer. Thank you Sander for your hard work and offering this product for such an affordable price. 10 Euros very well spent!

SP Upgrade
I'm feeling a bit guilty for not submitting a review sooner. SP Upgrade is one of the core tools in my Joomla development toolkit. This does something different than JUpgrade in that it will import data from a J1.5 database to an existing 1.7 site, whereas JUpgrade pushes data out.

The best use example I can think of to illustrate the benefit of SP Upgrade is this. If you installed a quicklaunch version of template from a template club with lots of demo content and extensions already set up, but now you need your content from your old 1.5 site you can use this extension to import it.

Admin Tools Professional
This is one of two Akeeba extensions I install on every site. There are many combinations and levels of security you can implement with Admin Tools. It is a fairly user friendly extension, but I do recommend reading the documentation to get the most out of it. If you don't know what you are doing, you can lock yourself out of the site. Not a fault of the extension, but of proceeding without reading.

Thank you for all the hard work, Akeeba!

Tienda
We've needed a quality alternative e-commerce solution for years and years and this looks like a home run. It is very easy to navigate. I set up a store in about an hour without reading any documentation. I'm working on the shipping now and it looks like I'll have to break out the instruction. Great work Dioscouri!

Amigos
On the surface it looks like a great component, but the functionality has quirks.
1. You must be a Joomla registered user to become an affiliate via Amigos if you are using the free version. It took a long time to find that information.
2. The free and paid versions are currently sending blank welcome emails.

mtwMigrator
I thought it was about time I upgraded my site to 1.5 but I was terrified of migrating all my data. This tool worked like a charm and saved me HOURS of time. It literally takes minutes. Thanks!!!

Akeeba Backup
WOWEEE!! I love this component. Smooth as glass. I didn't have the host information for the old site, so I installed this component, made my backup, uploaded the zip file to the new host and unzipped it. Created a new/empty database and changed the configuration file to reflect that db info. Entered the installation folder, clicked through the install and was done in 45 minutes total. Next time it will take me 30 minutes because I know what I'm doing now.
Thank you so much, you've helped me today and will help me many times in the future.
Regards,
Montano
