As you may have noticed recently, we have been busy in between projects, with a complete redesign of our own site. One of the major headaches we Joomla Ajax Registration and Captchaexprienced was with preventing Spam registrations, something that every site owner is concerned about. The previous Herdboy site made use of a few Core hacks to integrate an average CAPTCHA sytem into the registration process. This was fine for our purposes, but not a quick and effficient solution if you are pumping out Joomla sites as quick and often as we do, as well as not being the efficient solution.

I recently came across Joomla AJAX registration now with CAPTCHA after doing a lot of research and purchased and installed it on this site. I noticed that there were some conflicts with the template we used on the site that caused this Captcha script not to work as it should and before I could look at this further, I received an email from the developer Emir, after he had visited the site on his own initiative to see how his product was functioning, informing me his product was not functioning correctly and that it was because of template overides we have built into our template.

Emir also provided an updated version of the script to overcome this conflict which is working flawlessly. Check it out live Here

I was impressed by the following

* The script supports a native Captcha as well as reCAPTCHA: Stop Spam
* There is no need to hack core files
* A simple regular Joomla install/uninstall process
* AJAX Register will check all required fields as you type presenting error messages and asynchronously checking for username and email availability without page refresh.
* The quickest, most efficient and valid AJAX Registration out there.
* Only costs 7 € (Euro)
* A most effective Spam prevention registration system.

I am going to use this for a Free Project I am working on for a School. The setup is the least complicated of all the other Free extensions that are available. Feedback from testers has been positive so far with no problems reported.

I would like to see test results displayed to users if used as a test/quiz extension and am looking forward to the future releases.

This CAPTCHA really works. I have been testing it for a week now and am impressed . The spam from registrations, comments and forms has been cut 100%. Very good work.

The Best just gets better. I cannot praise this editor more, and is a must on all of our projects.

Now this fantastic module really finishes up a professional looking Joomla site. Every client of mines has requested this after seeing it in action. It's smart, slick and super sexy.

I 've been looking at this for some time now and I must give credit for the attempt being made to revive something that died a long time ago, but seriously, you need to stop working on the bells and whistles when there are more seriouc core issue to deal with. the bells and whistle can come later. Yes the response to issues on the support forum is quick but the solutions are not. The users still need to have advanced knowledge to carry out fixes recommended. Would be nice it it would one day be "Plug and Play". I will rather stick with Fireboard ( new releases) out soon and keep this on a local server for sharpening my coding skills.

I have just upgraded to version 1.1 running on Joomla 1.5.2 and cannot praise the Dev or the product more. For the level of features that it has it is unbelievable that the setup and upgrade process are so simple. Instruction anre clear and to the point so that anyone can set this up in minutes.

My only mod was with the width of the box for the new message text but I sorted this out by editing some css and a few template changes.
