STILL:
- The first problem/disappointment I came across is that it doesn't support Greek characters.
- It works O.K. with th latin alphabet but I should like it to have an option to open the link in a new window.

I have tried both 1.0.1 and 1.0.2 versions and the banners (used in user 1 pos in rhuk_milkyway) of my categories refuse to appear most of the times.
I hope you will address the problem soon as it might prove a very useful extension.
Until then... it's just a nice try!

There is a known problem with regards to sub-categories; currently the banner does not get inherited by the subcategories if the banner is assigned to only a parent category. Can you let me know if this is the problem you are having? We are planning a release by end of month which will carry this feature.
If this is not the problem, can you kindly report it at http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/vmbanner/tracker/ so we can have a look at it and follow it up?
