I installed Smart Bookmarker on a xhtml 1.0 transitional valid website, then got some validation errors. For those using this module and want their website code to remain W3C xhtml valid, make the following quick modifications to "default.php" (found in modules/mod_smartbookmarker/tmpl):
* near the top, remove the code starting with "top" (align="top"). No visible changes to the Smart Bookmarker style by using "top".
Doing these two tweaks will make your website xhtml valid again.

I was unable to validate my XHTML on my website due to using the embed code supplied by YouTube (I'm quite surprised the YouTube embed code isn't W3C valid)
This simple to setup, well-documented Plugin solved that problem. Thanks a million.
