Simple Mooticker
Easy to install and working great - I have used this ticker on several sites.

One minor issue - sometime when the last character in a right-left scrolling message extends to the rightmost part of its character's pixel grid (eg a 't'), the ticker seems to not clear up the rightmost pixels properly and leaves a small trail - for example, with a 't' I get two faint lines marking the right end of the horizonal bar in the letter and for the foot of the 't'. To fix this I just put a full stop after the last character.

I gave up on slick RSS and mod_feed because whenever I turned them on I got a '500 internal server error' and a core dump on my J1.5 site, but MagpieRSS worked first time.

VM Tree Factory
This is a great module but there's a couple of formatting issues which may hit you according to your default template:

If your category text wraps it tends to spill over the top of the next category text.

If you click + to view sub-categories, the next maint category sometimes jumps to the right of the last sub-category shown.

Security Images
I have installed, patched, removed, re-installed, re-patched - tried in-house test servers etc. and although I can get the captcha to display, the module always reports that the wrong characters have been entered. There were some tips on the site to try and fix this but I gave up in the end - it seems to be hit and miss whether this works.

Simple Image Gallery
What this module does is so simple, it is easy to install and the results are great. This must be one of the easiest ways to add a simple gallery to your site. Well worth a look and thanks to the developers.

Place Here module
I was wandering round Joomla trying to find out how to get the latest articles in a certain section to appear automatically on the front page of my Web site - no such luck, but then I found this module - just what I needed!

Acajoom
We looked at Acajoom to replace Anjel and found it to be well written and easy to use but there were a few rough edges, for example: importing email addresses seemed straightforward but the imports didn't show up in the subscribers list, yet if we re-imported them, we were told they were already there! We ran some test mailings with few problems, but in the end we went for Dada mail (a non-Joomla based solution).
