mtwMigrator
Very good component. You install it in 1.5 and point it to the 1.x database and tell it what you want to convert. Works like a charm. But a good review points out the weaknesses to.
1. You must have access to the 1.x database from your 1.5 installation. As some hosting providers block outside access to their database this is something to consider.
2. If partial data exists in the destination database the routine bails out. Prefferably it should offer the choises overwrite, append or bailout.

Bottomline I rate it as GOOD. Meaning Job well done.

Joomla! Tools Suite: JTS-component & JTS-snapshot
This isn't even near finished. I met the program today and was put off because what I installed wasn't finished. Sure a few options are working and IMHO give a false sense of security by the overload off information. I think any real problems reported would drown in the information that shows what is ok. Just too much.
Example: the check list for write permission of a file becomes humongous. It would be so much better to report only dangerous files until a check box points out the user wants everything.
Besides I'm not to sure if it is good practice to publicize betas in the extension directory. I can imagine that if this is becoming a trend, the directory would cease to exist pretty soon.

This plug in is really all you need. If you have any experience running software like Joomla, you will be amazed how easily this integrates and manages your language content. IMHO it's a charm.

BlastChat
The mere fact that I have to enable the chat applet in a public menu withholds me from even trying. Running a closed club site I'm not able to comply. Pitty though seems like a real nice program.

The mere fact that you can disable access for guests makes your closed club site still closed, even if access is public. If you would only read service description.
