And if it would work: only users that exist at the moment Template Switcher is installed, can be selected. Users added later can not be selected and not get User-Template Selection.
No support, no manual or documentation. So the only thing I can do is complain. Because solving the problem with help of the developpers is just not available.
I am sorry this did not work for you. I simply made this one afternoon for one of my websites and thought some others might benefit from it. I will always respond to emails from the website and here. (http://www.mybp3.com/contact)
Here are some detailed instructions to help you, I will also include these on the site:
1) Must install both the component AND the plugin.
2) It uses cookies, so your browser must be able to accept cookies.
3) Make sure the Plugin is enabled (step 1 in component)
4) Using the Parameters button in the top right of the component, ensure the component is enabled. Also choose to change template by Group or User. If you want to change templates by user, "user" must be selected or it will not work.
5) Make sure Users and Groups tables are synchronized with Template Switcher tables. This means any time you add new users or groups, you can hit the "synchronize" button again so that you can get the User-Template selection for them. It will not remove your settings for existing users, only add the new ones and remove non-existing users from the list.
Just one bug found so far: don't forget to name categorie manager, they forgot to validate if you enter category name or not. If you forget this, make another one, search for the last one in your database and delete the first one.
Not very flexible (no option to create extra fields)... then again: no flexibility was promised.
At the moment there is an option to create 1 extra field.
