Projectfork
Have been using the free version of ProjectFork for over a year now. This is a very useful extension for a distributed work force with multiple projects. A true benefit, particularly for a Web Developer, is the ability to include any Joomla User (read customer) as a project member. Some wish list items (cons) would be the lack of task dependency, and the lack of Project Completion tracking. But for a free component it is excellent.

Joomdle: Moodle - Joomla Integration
Joomdle is the absolute wish list for a Joomla site integrated with Moodle. We have also integrated the Virtuemart shop to sell course participation with excellent results. Support is outstanding.
Highly recommend Joomdle.

Akeeba Backup
We have use Akeeba backup extensively. The professional version works flawlessly to not only back up a Joomla site, but also pull additional directories and databases, and routinely store those backups on Amazon Simple Storage Service. Support is outstanding. Highest accolades possible for a Joomla component.

AcyMailing Starter
We have used AcyMailing in both the Starter and Enterprise version. This component does everything it says. The pricing models are great. The documentation is very well done and the support is top notch. Highly recommend.

JLive! Chat
We have used JLive Chat/Ultimate Live Chat for about 4 years. It works well as a client chat. However, it will require annual fees as it will not work in standalone mode.
I pursued this issue with them and was very disappointed with the results. Decide for yourself:

Paul, it obviously DOES work, the same it worked for you before your hosted livechat instance expired, and the same way it works for our other hundreds of thousands of users. Listen, my job is not to sit here and argue with you and waste my time, and I have been very patient with you and helped you with every email you send to us, but it seems you are upset that you have to renew your license. Excuse us for trying to stay in business so we could better serve your livechat needs. Excuse me for spending a couple days now trying to assist you while you have been very uncooperative. We are here conducting a serious business and we show up everyday to assist our customers and grow as a business, and we work really hard, and we have been doing that for many years now, so if you are not here to be serious and want to play games then I kindly ask that you take your business elsewhere. In fact, at this time I am gonna ask that you take your business elsewhere because we don't appreciate your nasty attitude or your negative insight. Please don't come back to our website and don't ever use our products again. Have a nice life!

I took his advice.

SQL 2 Excel Pro
Admittedly a nice little component, but the documentation is horrific.
The forum has been spamjacked and is useless to try and find any information.
Use the free version.
Live Chat
Very disappointed with both the extension and lack of service. After installing sent the following as a service ticket:
Recently purchased Live Chat and have some problems.
1. When trying to edit 'Language' operation fails, 'content empty'
2. ie8 error in backend Live Chat:
Webpage error details (edited for space)

3. Chat doesn't work.
4. How is offline message configured?
5. Is there any module for chat, rather than menu item?
6. Is there a popup availability?

A prompt reply is appreciated.

Aside from the automated ticket reply, there was no response. Sent a subsequent request for refund which recieved a similar result.

Try the Chatango mod. It's highly ocnfigurable, and free.
