Akeeba Subscriptions
When I began developing a website for a nonprofit that had $0 for web development, I had to find a good subscription management extension that was cheap, preferably free. Akeeba Subs was the first subscription management extension that I found that was free. I have found myself needing to modify the views to fit the nonprofit's needs, but this is extremely easy to do. The documentation is well written, the forums contain many answers to common questions, but more importantly, the code is easy to read and understand. Like the other Akeeba extensions I've used, this extension is truly a joy to work with.

Admin Tools
I have used this extension from Joomla! 1.5 - 2.5 and have found it to be a big life saver. When I was working on the development of my last site, AdminTools Joomla! update feature was the only method that would work to upgrade my site from 1.7 to 2.5. I don't find myself using this extension as much as I do the other Akeeba extensions I use (Backup and Subscriptions), but it have been just as invaluable to me.

Akeeba Backup
I have been using Joomla! for a few years now in test environments and just went live with my first site. The site started with Joomla! 1.5 and migrated up through 1.6, 1.7, and finally 2.5 before it was implemented. With all three Joomla! versions, AkeebaBackup core was there to save my butt each and everytime I did something stupid during development. And when I went live with the site, it made transitioning from the development site (MS Windows) to the production site (Linux) so smooth, I thought I had messed something up. I find Nicholas' documentation to be excellent and the forum is a great resource for finding solutions to common issues.
