FlexiContent is com_content which integrates nicely with joomla and other core components/plugins/modules.
Lack of documentation is fine as long as you understand content types, user fields and so forth. This is an awesome intuitive CCK component. I freakn love FlexiContent
And the site doesnt even use the cck...
I noticed the source code didnt have the component, so how is that a real demo???
Hello sbcarlos.
The site does use it for sure, it works like this:
The Snippets component is there to create and manage predefined snippets of markup in the backend/admin only.
These snippets with predefined spots for images, text or as many attributes or whatever you like can be easily inserted in Joomla! articles with browsing your snippets library from the article with an extended button underneath the textarea (like the readmore button).
Click to insert, hit Apply and your article or custom content markup is created. That way you can be certain your article for say a specific category always look the same on the site.
For clients in case you are a developer snippets are great because the only thing they have todo is insert the snippet in an article and change some tags like {{COLOR}} or ++COLOR++, whatever you define.
So, snippets extends the Joomla! core content manager in a very simple but also very powerful way.
We'll try to create a better demo.
Pro:
Since its integrated with joomla core and most other components are too, this fits well with most of the components/plugins already out there. This is joomla on steroids.
Cons:
Way steep learning curve but that's only because its super powerful and flexible. Its way worth your time to learn it.
