THanks, the ability to resize the thumbnail while having the image popup look (like Simple image Gallery) ticked the boxes.

Maybe help for other users: I had to chmod 777 my /plugins/content/fboxbot/thumbs directory to get the thumbnail creation working. Before this, just image name showing (no thumbnail).
